Pros-Limited downtime, not much post operative care required

Cons-Painful, minimal results, expensive

I had it to improve acne scarring on cheeks, and some light hyperpigmentation and wrinkles.

Great review?

My Doctor: name not provided

I never met the doctor until the procedure and even then he just wanted to hurry and finish.

I was just going to do this! what was the prescription of your numbing cream? Mine is really strong but I want to make sure it does not hurt - was it 'hot' and like rubber bands snapping on you? I have had profractional laser and lots of BBL - the profractional hurt A LOT and this doc is saying that the CO2 does not hurt as much. How much downtime for you? are you swollen? tender? are you using ice? thanks - I am sort of nervous about this - in the old days CO2 laser was a very serious general anesthesia procedure and I am adjusting to this being milder in concept...

They just used lidocaine gel on me. It was painful still, felt like needle pricks when the laser hit my temples and near my jawline. It is tolerable, because the procedure only lasts 10 minutes, but it is very uncomfortable. I had the Smartxide Dot and the recovery period is about 5 days with minimal pain. I had the original CO2 in 1996 and it was a mess( very swollen and oozing for weeks ). The recovery period on it was a month or more. Then your face stayed red for a year. I think the results from the old Co2 laser are better, but the downtime isn't worth it.Smartxide results are comparable, about a 20% improvement for me. I did it for acne scars and some hyperpigmentation.
