Worth It
Spent: $8,600 in Voorhees, New Jersey

Of course the biggest con is any scar at all but this is a necessary evil. My surgery was just 2 1/2 weeks ago and I am soo... happy.

I am a 49yr old mother of four. I had my last child at 38.

I had two drains and a pain pump. I was frightened the pain would be terrible the 2nd and 3rd days but it wasn't. I took one pain pill every 4 to 6 hours during the day and one before bed. Was I uncomfortabe? Yes. In pain? Not really. Very uncomfortable but so worth it. Sneezing, coughing, or laughing put really a strong ripping feeling down my center the first week.

I still have some discomfort rolling over in bed and any stretching pulls on my center but I wear my harness everyday and restrict my lifting and excersise. I walk across campus three days a week from 8:30 to 5:30.

My steri strips just came off a few days ago so now I will do scar care with scarguard. I get tired but am feeling better everyday, literally.

My doctor was amazing, his staff was wonderful. I don't go back to see him for six months. By then I will be in my two piece bathing suit again and will want to kiss him I am sure. I was not some skinny minny to begin with either. I weigh 165 but wear medium size 8 to 10 everything but had this gross roll of extra skin. When I leaned forward it just hung there. YUK! IT'S GONE....

I can't wait to see the end result because I am already brought to tears of happiness.

My Doctor:

Recommended to me, Top Doc in South Jersey, Terrific respect for all questions, his office staff is wonderful, Care is great and EVERYONE at the surgery center said he is an artist and would have him do their surgery. I felt safe and sure.

thanks for sharing--you have helped me. I am about to make my appt to have the TT and a breast reduction at the same time. I have been very worried about the pain from the TT. They are also going to do 2 drains and a pain pump--and I suspect the pain pump really helps! I am 58 and in much need of this reconstruction. You were wise to get this done now and not wait another 10 years!

How tall are you? I am 5'7 and wear 6 dress and 8-10 pants. Just wondering if you went down a size at all after your procedure.

Thanks for the info. Very helpful in my decision on what to do about my unsightly belly.

Hi! Is the $8600 the total fee (ie. surgeon's fee, hospital, and anesthesiologist)? Or just the surgeon's fee?
