I went to Dr. Su with my wife, both of us are...

I went to Dr. Su with my wife, both of us are highly active and fit. We had some resilient fat that no amount of dieting or exercise could get rid of, we both work out every day, and after several consults, we chose Dr. Su.

The procedure was EXTREMELY painful, and to me, is the closest thing to being in a real life SAW movie. There is nothing medical about the procedure, you're literally in a back room, laying on a paper covered massage table, while his nurses hold you down and you watch in horror as the cannula rips through your skin. You are awake the whole time. For me... And my 3lbs of fat.... It was 3 hours.

There is no real anesthesia, you are wide awake. Using nothing more than Lidocaine, we were told we wouldn't feel anything. That was the first lie. As I said, the procedure was the most painful thing I have ever gone through, and horrific. They let my wife stay in the room and watch for some reason, she had to leave.

Once the procedure was over, I was so lightheaded I couldn't stand very well. I went home and took my pain pills and tried to sleep. I was told I could go back to work the next day, I was unable to get out of bed, even to go to the bathroom for almost a week. I had to have assistance getting in and out of bed. I also could not sleep, so I had to get Xanax to knock me out.

I didn't go back to work for two weeks, which really set me back since I own several businesses and manage them. I was sore and bruised for almost three months.

We had our touchups a year later. He circled an area above our belly buttons when he was doing our charts and follow ups. My wife and I have the same ridge, on the same angle, about the same length. We surmised it was from where he held his thumb during the procedure, so we both had a pocket of fat in that area left over. He told us he'd fix it.

We went in for our touch-ups, and knowing already what we'd be in for, we ignored their useless Ativan pill, took Xanax instead, and took Tramadol (non-narcotic pain medication) before surgery, this time it was much more manageable, but still painful and horrific. This time it was over quick.

However, once I stood up, the pocket was still there. He refused to fix it, and we had a small but heated argument about it, and I left his office and never went back.

He refused to fix the ridge on my wife also. He claimed it was "our bodies", which is absolutely impossible, since we are two different people, but have the same exact mark, in the same exact place, the same length. About the size of a thumb.

In retrospect, I am happy I did it, the results are good. But unfortunately, since he deals with heavy/obese people, who have no reasonable expectation of definition or perfected results, we now need to have lipo correction by another doctor to deal with the leftover issues.

If I could go back in time, I probably would not have chosen Dr. Su. He is a great guy, very nice. But the office just seen dollar-signs, told us what we wanted to hear, made false claims about recovery and ushered us through the process. Dr. Su's technique is very aggressive, and extremely painful., and now that once again I have to go through the procedure with another doctor, I am disappointed, especially since there are 300/400lb people here on Realself, getting more fat removed, across greater areas, and paid much less than I did.

Nice guy, excellent bedside manner. Very polite. Aggressive and "hurried" technique. Does not allow much time for resting/pain relief in between areas or when advised that the pain is severe. Gets impatient when interrupted during the procedure when pain is severe. Did not fix what was promised.
