Had Fraxel for about one dozen brown spots on my arms. I had burning for 5 days. Even after 1 year scars appearing still.

When I went back with red welts and burning told me it was normal. Went showing damage after two weeks and told me that was normal and it would get better. It didn't and does not want to treat me anymore after going there 10years

My skin has gotten worse over time with some items such as sagging the skin has lost more firmness. It seems to fast forward the ageing process. My skin color uneveness has improved with products. If you search medical publications you will find more answers that the doctors will never tell you.http://web.princeton.edu/sites/ehs/laserguide/sec2.htm does not help us but validates what we can see with our own eyes.

I had Fraxel done on my arms at my derm's office. Yes she is still working at Academic Alliance in Tampa. I don't think it matters who does it some people will and do have permenant damage. Mine continues to get worse even after two years. The scars which started as little pox marks now contines to stretch out and grow into larger lines. Ahh it is horrible here in Tampa to have to cover your arms because it is so hot. I had IPL done on my face at M.D. Aesthetics & Wellness Inst which was done by a doctor. This was suggest by my Derm's P.A. because she said it was gentle, not abalative, and would not go as deep as the Fraxel. Ha the damage on my face from IPL looks like I had acne because every pore is now shallow craters I also lost volume in my cheeks, and horrible texture like orange peel to my skin on my face. The doctors have denied this could happen even though I have pictures from within three months. Much of the damage shows up weeks and months later than continues to get wors. I think some people far too many experience damaging results. It is a gamble I would never take again because the damage you get is so far worse than the problems you went in to help with. I was going for brown/sun spots only. Now those are still there faded but more surface later and on top of that you end up with all the other damage you have read about. It does not matter the color of your skin, your age, your sex, or the type of laser they use, or who is performing the procedure. You just don't know what they outcome will be. I hope this helps you. This is just my experience and only my opinion.

I have seen three doctors but they all say that once you have been burned by someone setting the laser dial too high the damage is done. Like any burn scar it may get better with time but it has been a year and the damage has gotten worse. Why laser does do this? Maybe because laser are made to go deep into the dermis. That must make the damage go deeper than a burn from sun or a fire. No one seems to know. Some damage didn't even show for months after! The skin looks dry, hyper and hypopigmenation, with deep lines where the laser beam hit. Terrible but true for me at least. Thanks for asking maybe someday someone will address all these cases

I am so sorry to hear this. Have you seen any other doctors to get their opinions on what may be able to be done to help you?
