Taking Accutane Was the Worst Decision I Ever Made.

Not Worth It
Spent: $100 in Bellevue, Washington

Back in the 1980's my 35 year old face still had such chronic really bad acne that my doctor recommended accutane treatment. He said that about 1 person in 20 showed a 5% thinning of the hair on the crown of their head but it all grew back in a couple of months, and none of the 37 patients he had given it to had lost any hair at all. Within a week my hair started falling out faster than normal, after two weeks it was practically coming out in handfuls and I stopped taking the drug. A month after about 80% of the hair was gone from the whole top of my head, three months after 99% was gone. Nothing ever grew back. Before accutane I had extremely thick hair. At 52 my brother still has a head of hair that would make a lot of teenagers jealous, so good odds I would have kept mine too. The accutane did improve my skin a bit, so was it worth it? Oh, Expletive Deleted NO!!

My Doctor: Name not provided

I blame the drug company, not the doctor.
