2nd Consultation - Success!

So, I had my 2nd consultation last week. I was very pleased with the doctor and his staff. I felt very comfortable with him, he was NOT pushy, and spent more time than I expected going all lots of information and answering my questions. As I mentioned in my previous post, my first question was about how implants would affect my workouts & yoga practice. The Dr. assured me that (in time - after a full recovery), the implants will have no effect on my very active lifestyle. Can anyone give their experiences with BA and working out and how long it took to regain strength (my upper body is VERY strong).

So, overall, I felt really good about the consult but I still want to wait until after the holidays (January) to have the surgery. I am definitely going for silicone & PS recommended: Moderate Plus 300-350cc OR High Profile 375-400cc Implants. I am 5'5" about 123 lbs - athletic build. Anyone with these stats with similiar size implants? I am going for a natural look and I am pretty athletic so am leaning towards the moderate plus 300-350cc....

Finally starting this blog after ready all of the reviews now for a while. I'm 35, no children, 5'5" 123 lbs - athletic build. I wear a 34A bra but my breasts are not symmetrical - left is probably a A cup & right is probably an AA cup. At least they are both small, right?!? Since puberty, this is something that I have been very self-concious of but have accepted it as, "This is how God made me..." When I looked at myself in the mirror when standing directly in front (no clothes on of course), the asymmetry did not 'appear' to be that but when I would do a side or angle view - HUGE difference, at least to me. And, the older I've gotten - when I gain a few lbs, it seems that my left breast gets bigger but the right stays the same. Ugh. I have thought about breast augmentation for years (probably since my late teens) but never seriously until about a few months ago. I came the conclusion that I am 35 and if I want breast augmentation to fix something that I've been self concious of my entire life, then I have the right to do it. Plus, I'd like to feel more feminine :-)

So, here I am. Finally starting this blog. I recently confided in a select few girlfriends and my mother & stepfather that breast augmentation is something I am seriously considering. Here's my dillema - I have VERY active. I workout 6 days/week before work early in the morning and practice advanced yoga (and teach two days/week). My fear is that I will lose my upper body strength that I have worked SO hard to achieve - will I ever be able to hand-stand or forearm balance again? I use my chest muscles A LOT and it seems like most doctors only want to go submusuclar. I'd love to hear from any other yogis or very athletic women who've undergone both procedures and how it affected (or did not affect) your workout routines.

Yesterday, I had my first consult. It sucked. I did NOT like the surgeon or his staff. His staff was really pushing me to book a surgery date to save $100. Seriously? If I am going to spend $6,500+, what's another $100? Also, when I asked the doctor questions- he seemed somewhat put off - as in, "wow she's asking too much." And, when I tried on implants (which I thought were too big - I want a natural looking C cup), I felt pressured that the larger one was better. Just an overall bad consult. I have another one set up next Thursday with a local surgeon that I've heard good things about - hopefully this one goes better. I am also going to consider traveling to Albany, NY to see Dr. Deluca as I've heard great things about him.

If I don't chicken out and can find a surgeon that I like and can trust, I am thinking about having my surgery done in January. The winter months in Syracuse are usually pretty bad and it will give time to just have some quiet R&R at home when the snow is flying.

I am very thankful for this website.....I have learned so much. Until I really starting seriously considering BA, I didn't realize what a BIG decision it is. The support is so helpful.

I will update as I have things to share. Thank and good luck ladies!
