Rhinoplasty and Lower Eyelid Surgery Transcutaneous - Sydney

I am day 11 post-op and, to be honest, kind of wish I hadn't gone through with the operation. My tapes were removed today and my nose looks swollen and piggish. My under eyelids look more promising but the outer edges are tight and lumpy and look weird. I know it takes some time for things to settle down, but I can't help feeling I've made a mistake. I saw a great surgeon - one who seems to be among the best in my city and who I've never read/heard any negative criticism about, but still I am worried at what I've done. My recovery has been slow too, which did not help things, with lots of pain, tears and depression. I am worried I have made a huge mistake.

Well, I am now 7 months down the track and have to sheepishly admit that things are looking a great deal better! My concerns about my nose being piggish were unfounded. As everyone says, the tip dropped and I am happier every day with the way the nose is turning out. I still have a good deal of swelling and can feel the tightness in the tip when I touch it, but the gradual changes taking place are great and I'm thrilled with what my surgeon has done. The eyes are also very good, although my skin has healed a little strangely on one side, leaving me with a kind of tiny flap of skin. I'll mention this to my surgeon at my next follow up. My surgeon has been sensational; I've had three or four follow up appointments so far and he is more than helpful and informative. All in all, I have learned that this whole process TAKES TIME!

How are you feeling about your results now?

Oh, I'm sorry you're feeling this way. It can be an abrupt change after you get that splint off. I remember feeling that my nose looked horrible for the first few days, but then I grew to really like it. I hope this is true for you as well. Please keep us updated.
