Bad side of botox -not knowing till after a week if there will be side effects of botox. With my daughter's wedding just a few weeks away it seemed like a good idea to have some botox treatment.

A week after having some botox I am having a droopy eyelid, quite distressing and noticeable and have read that Alphagan eyedrops is good for this but I would like to know how long before the effect as it is my daughter's wedding on Jan 9'10 (hence why I had the botox) and would love my eyelid corrected by then, can this be?

That sucks for you! Unfortunately, lots of people get botos right before a bit event not realising that the results can be unpredictable. Hopefully for you it was just a tiny bit of botox that leaked down into your eye muscle which means there is every possibility it will be much improved in a few weeks. Get the eyedrops. I have heard they really help. Wishing you the best of luck. Cheers

thank you 'tried but failed" I did get the eyedrops yesterday so not even on them for a day yet, but hopefully in a week I will see the results a normal eyelid again just as long as its fine by Jan 9.

You still have a week or so left. And take heart, it is much more obvious to you than it is to anyone else. Good luck. K

Three days to go! Are you seeing any improvement? I am thinking of you. Cheers

Thank you again for asking. SOMEtimes I do tend to think its more obvious to myself than to others, but when that eye starts to feel heavy and you just know its dropping, you know that its not the look you want.Fortunately just from yesterday I can see a slight improvement, eyelid needs to be up more though, I'm increasing my drops to 3 drops , 3 times a day now. did you have droopy eyelid too and/or something else went wrong

Yes, just remember it it way more obvious to you. I am sure it will all be fine. The photos won't even show it because everyone squints when they smile. I am sure you and your daughter will both look stunning. Let us know how it goes. As to me, droopy lid was about the only thing I didn't get from botox. I had full facial drop (cheek ptosis) and festoon formation under one eye. No drops in the world to disguise it! Basically, if the muscle under the eye is so paralysed by botox that it is no longer strong enough to hold the fat pads under the eyes back then they bulge forward creating festoons. The photos I have are horrendous. Also, over-paralysing the eye muscle in the bunny lines and crows feet area can cause it to flatten out allowing the facial fat to droop down the face. This is what happened to me. Other bad botox stuff happened to my forehead etc but the facial drop and festoon are the worst. It will be 26 weeks this Friday and I am seeing some improvement but I still look awful. The skin has been so stretched, particularly by the bulging festoon under my left eye that I am confident that I will require a blepharoplasty/canthopexy to fix the damage. Botox can really do a lot of damage. I look forward to hearing from you about the wedding. Cheers, K
