I've done my research and while both PRK and Lasik are safe enough choices, there is this new technique called Nu-Lasik which was created by an ophthalmologist called Dr Kim Frumar. He's been called a "pioneer of his field" and has been doing the technique for over 30 years. It doesn't actually cut the cornea and has far better long term results than both PRK and Lasik. I had my eyes done about 5 years ago now and my vision has improved so much. It's actually better than when I wore glasses.

Do you mind sharing what the actual procedure was like, and how it healing from it went?

The procedure was very quick, about 30 minutes if I remember correctly. In terms of the experience it felt like there was a light show of green and red lights, interrupted only for the Doctor to put in some eye drops. Afterwards one of the orthoptists explained to me what i needed to do and what to expect.
My eyes were a little itchy and red for the first few days but afterwards they felt normal. Sometimes they would feel dry but then i would just use the drops the doctor gave me. My vision did fluctuate a little at first but since then its been great. The whole healing process wasnt difficult, just needed to put the drops in and rest, other than that it was fine.

Did the entire surgery only cost $2,170? or was that per eye?

Nu-LASIK is a version of Epi-LASIK (per Dr. Frumar's website) - which is a procedure where the epithelium is removed with an automated device. So it is a version of PRK.
