The process is going well. I am on tray 14 of 23 upper and 26 lower. I see results but there is still a lot of movement to be done.
A bit dissapointed about IPR gap that was made before treatment that is still there.
Meeting my ortho on thursday to discuss this.

The worst part and side effect I experienced so far is my lips. They are extremely dry, have had a lot of difficulties. Tray 14 has been the worst so far. I soak them in water and listerine and brush the trays before putting them in first time.
Still my lips are irritated, dry and cracked on the sides. I have tried everything but it doesn't get any better. Almost looks like a rash but I guess it is because I need to stretch my mouth when I remove/insert the trays.

So sorry to hear you are having problems with dry & cracked lips, that is no fun! Have you tried Bag Balm? I know it sounds disgusting, but it really helps with super chapped lips. Maybe it would give you some relief? Its cheap, you can order it off Amazon, or buy it at a lot of drug stores. Hope your lips feel better soon!!

7/5

I am on tray 11 out of 23 upper and 26 lower.
I started seeing a slight change rather early in the process, probably on tray 5. Still not so much discomfort, the worst is 2-3 days of a new tray.
The worst part so far are my dry and cracked lips, I wear chapstick 24/7.

I have 6 buttons on my lower, so far so good the only downside is that its more difficult to get the trays off.

I can see a change so far (even friends and family point it out) and I am very happy with my choice. Will be posting pictures later in the process :)

Good to hear an update from you Meghan!! So glad you are starting to see some change & how fun that others are noticing as well! :)

Hi today 5/16/12 I've started my invislign treatment. I'm so excited about this. I can say I was a lil worried because when my dentist put my first trays in it felt tight. But once I got home they didn't feel tight anymore. So I called and they told me my teeth are adjusting to the trays already. Which I hope that is the case. But anywho I can't wait to see how this turns out. I had to get buttons on the top & bottom which didn't bother me at all.
Hi Bailey! Great to hear :) my experience is pretty much the same. The trays get loose rather soon and the buttons don't bother me. I guess we are lucky!

24/12. I changed to my second trays yesterday...

24/12.

I changed to my second trays yesterday. My first set of trays were pretty loose after one week. And they looked absolutely disgusting, I felt it was very hard to keep them clean. I have to agree with some reviews on the fact that toothpaste makes it even worse. I just bought Cortega dental tabs and I hope these will help me keep the trays clean.

I am already used to the trays and I hardly think they show but some people have been asking me if I have something in my mouth. At first I was very self conscious but now I just feel great about getting my teeth straight, don't feel that it is something to be ashamed of.

My second tray was tight as the first one. I can't help feeling a bit worried since I hardly feel any pain and I'm wondering if this is normal? My orthodontist told me that Invisalign is less painful than regular braces but this feels a bit odd.

The soreness appears when I take out my trays to eat but it goes away. I hope something is happening with my teeth!

did you get told not to use dencher cleaner?
I guess you mean from my ortodontist? I haven't asked him. I can recommended it, much better than brushing with toothpaste.
Would you assume that a person who has a 'crowded' mouth/small mouth and consequently more crooked teeth would experience alot more discomfort from invisalign than a person whose teeth are not as 'bad'?

As a very vast generalization, I suppose the answer would be yes. However, what tends to determine the amount of discomfort seems to be the amount of movement (activation) in each tray set. If you have a lot of change to be done, but it is spread out over small increments of change that would probably be more comfortable than someone with minimal changes needed but with big more aggressive movements in each tray.

From my experience the answer is yes. I have one upper tooth that is crooked and I have felt a slight discomfort by the upper trays. My lower teeth were more crowded and the lower trays have hurt more. I also have buttons on my lower and they have been more difficult to take off. My ortho also says it is because my lower teeth are more crowded.
