I am 5 months into my treatment and I still love the braces.

Only issue so far is one tooth that is not moving like it's supposed to. My orthodontist said during the refinement portion of the treatment I may have to wear rubberbands to get that tooth to move. I'm not real thrilled about the prospect of rubberbands - but again - it's the end result that counts.

The honeymoon phase is over - but I still love the braces and would suggest them and my orthodontist to anyone.

I just got my second set of trays yesterday (10/06/10). They are a little tighter than the first set, but no pain. I have one more attachment that will be glued on somewhere around tray 8 or 9 for a total of 12 attachments. At this time, I can't tell if my teeth are any straighter as the movement has been on the teeth in the back. By tray 9 I should start to see straightening of the front teeth. I will have a total of 16 trays on top and 10 on bottom followed by "refinement". I was originally told my treatment should last 15 - 18 months. My only "problem" is that I am impatient. I can hardly wait for the days to pass until it's time to put in the next tray.

I am on my first set of trays so right now I'm still in the honeymoon phase. I had one tooth in the front of my mouth extracted, buy my orthodontist had a fake one put in each tray and you can't tell which one was pulled. Of course when I take the tray out to eat, you can see one is missing but I try to eat as quickly as I can so I can brush/floss and get the bottom tray back in. I have 11 attachments or buttons or whatever they are called. I'm not thrilled that there are 4 you can see when I smile - but it's the end result that counts. The only pain so far has been from the shot I got to deaden my mouth when the bottom tooth was extracted. I would suggest that anyone considering Invisalign search for what I believe Invisalign calls a "Premier Elite" or "Elite Premier" provider. That is a provider who has a great deal of experience fitting Invisalign. I also chose an orthodontist rather than a regular dentist. My trays are very comfortable - nothing rubs on my cheeks or gums. The only reason I know they are in my mouth is that at this time I feel a slight pressure on my teeth. I'm told by the orthodontist office to "just wait". At some point there will be pain associated with the movement of certain teeth.
