No more pain

Sorry this has taken me so long to post an update, but I couldn't get logged in to Realself for some reason. I had finally given up, but decided to try again; voila! Anyhow, I feel great, as far as pain is concerned; but as of Friday night I woke up itching so bad that I felt like I was going to claw my skin off. It was most around the incisions; my thought was, okay, here comes the healing process. Nope, the next day I woke up with the worst itching I have ever experienced, and finally grabbed the mirror to look and found a really bad rash. Of course it happens on the weekend, when the office is closed. So I called first thing this morning (Monday) and the doc is calling in some topical cream for me. I pray to goodness it works! Nothing I have done seems to help, at all.
Anyhow, I got my drains out on day 8, didn't hurt at all (I was terrified of that part). I was SO relieved. But I started feeling really "fat" the whole week after that. I am assuming that was from my body having to take care of the fluid, rather the drains doing that, so I bloated up a bit. Starting to feel like it is finally going away.
Let's see, what else..... ? Oh, I drove my littleboy to his first day of 2nd grade on the Tuesday after my Wednesday surgery; um.... AWFUL, lol. I felt like my stomach was just going to explode. In the long run, however, I think it helped to prepare me for the 2 and 1/2 to 3 hour drive to my follow up the next day. That was still rough, but not nearly as bad.
Minus the swelling, and being tired more than normal, I am doing a lot better than I anticipated. Like I said, no pain, sleeping in my bed and on my side, standing up straight with no troubles, etc. I feel pretty normal.
I didn't think I would, because I felt so good right after surgery, looks wise anyway, but I had a spell of "why in the world did I do this?" during week two. I just felt so fat from all of the swelling that I was questioning whether I should have gotten the tummy ttuck ornot. Always have been happy with the breast though. Getting ready to start week three in a couple of days, so I think the swelling should really start to become more minimal at that point and I should start feeling better about that.
I hope all of you fellow Realself-ers had a great weekend!

Showered Today!

I was actually released to shower 24 hours after surgery, but decided to not push things; I'm not going anywhere! :-)
Anyhow, it was glorious and draining at the same time. It definitely took everything out of me that I had in me. I stayed in bed pretty much all day while my fiancé did some major cleaning in other partsdof the house. I am making sure I keep up with my regular walks, but I am still determined to get these drains out ASAP! They don't really bother me that much, but I have no idea how to hide them so I can leave the house. School starts next week for the kids, and of course I have to go the first day, so I have to figure out what to do! Maybe freshly drain them and stink them under my armpits under a flowy shirt? Shoot, I dunno.
Today was a pretty good day, all in all. I imagined being in a lot more pain, but I am not; which I am very thankful for!

A Couple of One Day Post Op Pics

I got some pictures up! I totally forgot that my before pictures are on my other memory card, so I will have to dig those out tomorrow. I will get more up soon!
