I have always hated my lack of a chin and my fat...

I have always hated my lack of a chin and my fat neck. Even when I have lost weight, my neck and chin were never affected. I had heard about Kybella and began researching the procedure but I decided if I was going to get any procedure done, I was going to be open to whatever procedure was going to be most effective. I'm extremely squeamish of anything to do with needles, surgery, or blood, so if I was going to go through any medical procedure I wanted the outcome to be worth going through the fear and unpleasantness.

Dr Nayak suggested that kybella was not going to give me the results I wanted because a lot of the fat I had was deeper fat and not sensitive to diet and metabolism (I can attest to that being true as I have tried dieting it away for my entire adult life) and that I would benefit more from a chin implant and an "incisionless necklift" ($7,400) which would remove some of the deeper fat and reshape and lift my neck. He also suggested that i would be a good candidate for buccal fat pad removal (1,400). I agreed because I felt like I was already getting bad jowls from the fat in my cheeks, and I have a history of that in my family. I decided to do all 3 procedures, and the total cost for all 3 was $14,548 including a $4,003 anesthesia/facility fee. This also included all my pre and postoperative appointments for a year.

The morning of my surgery I was pretty much terrified but Dr Nayak's staff were all extremely sweet and did their best to make me feel at ease. I really can't say enough nice things about them, they were so nice and reassuring to me as I was getting prepped for surgery.

I didn't have any problems in surgery and when I woke up I didn't have any pain. I slept for most of the first 2 days. I think my swelling on the 3rd and 4th day were the worst, but Dr Nayak used drains on me instead of a compression garment and I feel like my swelling was really minor compared to other reviews I have seen. Though the drains worked great, it was probably the worst part of the process for me simply because I am squeamish of all things blood and medical. They didn't hurt, but they were uncomfortable. I had them in for a week after surgery and was thrilled to get them out. My photos show the day of surgery and 1 week post op when I had my drains removed.

Concerns:
At 12 days after the procedure I think I am going to be very happy with the results. I am thrilled with my side profile. I am hoping that I still have some swelling around the sides of my chin because I still feel like it's a little wide looking from the front. Dr Nayak says he trims the wings of all his patients implants quite a bit to avoid looking too wide from the front, so I'm hopeful that it will go down a bit more.

Also, under my jaw is still pretty hard and has some uneven lumps. I'm also attributing this to residual swelling and am hopeful it will resolve in time.

My smile is uneven, the right side of my bottom lip will not pull down when I smile but Dr Nayak says this will resolve itself and based on the reviews on this site I am feeling confident that it will.

Right now I definetly think the procedures were worth it but I will post some more photos when I am further into recovery. I'm glad I went with Dr Nayak, this experience has been a good one thus far into my recovery. Dr Nayak is great. I can't believe I finally have a chin and jaw.

Dr Nayak was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. I am very happy with my results even though I am only 12 days post op. I would definetly reccomend him for anyone who had similar problem areas to me, with chin and neck. He is a great surgeon and I also think he has an artistic eye which you definetly want in someone who is going to sculpt your face.
