I am a 47 y.o. man, struggled with weight all my life and currently weigh about 250 lbs. My sister had the bypass 2 years ago and is very happy. I have considered this for these 2 years. I'm concerned because I went to a support group tonight and I was not impressed with the facilitation and concerned that the surgeons are not caring for the psycho-social support needed. Also this is a "center for excellence".

Great review?

Hi there, welcome and thanks so much for sharing your journey with us!

Is the support group attached to the surgeon that you're going with? Support is definitely important with thos type of journey, but if you're happy with your surgeon in every other way, is it possible to find another support group, that better suits your needs?
