Rhinoplasty - Manchester, GB

I have wanted Rhinoplasty for years due to my nose having quite a big hook to it and was too big for my face. I had researched it a couple of times but was always terrified to book a consultation. The thought of going through surgery was too much and I just came to the conclusion I would never go through with it. It was seriously affecting my confidence and I got to a point at 25 when I realised I didn't want to regret not having it done when I was younger.

I started doing research for plastic surgeons based in Manchester and saw lots of positive feedback about James Murphy. I booked a free consultation just to get an idea but thought I would probably come out of it being terrified to continue with the process. In fact the opposite happened. After a chat with Mr Murphy and him using computer imaging to give me an idea of how it could look post-op I actually came out feeling so confident I could actually do it after all these years. Following the consultation I booked the procedure for a few months ahead to give me time to really think about it.

The weeks flew by and before I knew it the day had come. I was terrified but all of the nurses and members of staff were fantastic. I had an amazing anesthetist who put me at ease and after a short two hour operation it was all over. Recovery was definitely uncomfortable and harder than I thought it would be (not being able to breathe out of your nose means your mouth gets dry very quickly and it's hard to sleep and eat.) It's nothing unbearable though and the splint was off after a week. I was back in work after 2 weeks and I couldn't be happier with the result. It was everything I wanted: I still look like me but just slightly refined. I can't put into words how great it feels to be in public and not feel like everyone is staring at you for the wrong reasons. Mr Murphy, his secretary Sue and all of his team really put you at ease and make you feel you can trust them all the way. It has honestly changed my life.
