My first tip is to be as prepared as possible...

My first tip is to be as prepared as possible going in to your consultation appointment. Research thoroughly what size implants you think you want. You can even print photos or show them on your phone what you would like your end result to look like. I went in just saying oh, I think I would like a full C or D, so Dr. Orseck measured me and suggested 397 cc. I paid $50 that day for the visit and went ahead and paid the $500 to book a surgery date. They will print a quote and list of all the charges you will pay later.

I later decided, after viewing hundreds of photos, that I wanted to go larger. Trust me, bigger is better! People always say they wish they would have gone larger. Keep in mind your size, too. I am 5'7" and 130 pounds. I have an athletic build (I played sports in college), so 397cc would look completely different (much bigger) on someone who is 5'2" and 110 lb. Also know that my 500cc implants are considered LARGE and the fact that they are submuscular means the pain will be greater (I think) as opposed to smaller implants. I have a pretty good pain tolerance so I was able to manage with the valium and hydrocodone they prescribed. I was completely out of it after surgery and barely remember the night following surgery. I could hardly get up on my own at all the next day; however, by Sunday (2 days after) I was up and getting around at my sister's baby shower. I took Monday off work and relaxed. On Tuesday I returned to work with no problem, but I continued to take meds because I have to move around a lot and even move boxes. This caused me some discomfort and I continued to have some sharp pains/muscle spasms throughout the next week. By the time I went to my second check-up, 10 days after surgery (your first will be just a few days after surgery), any sharp pains had subsided and I saw a HUGE difference in my breasts. I would say on day 8 post-surgery I felt incredible, my boobs had dropped and softened. Dr. Orseck told me to stop wearing my compression band.

The pain is tolerable. I was able to work Tuesday morning through Friday taking meds. DO NOT DRIVE ON PAIN MEDICATION. I was picked up and dropped off by my boyfriend every day. It's now 18 days after surgery and I feel great. I still have some tightness in my breasts and can't do any chest exercises. I've been in the gym everyday doing leg workouts and walking on the treadmill. A few days ago I did some tricep and light shoulder exercises. If your implants are large, take it really slow and try to raise and lift your arms and stretch gently everyday after surgery to start getting flexibility.

My second tip is to get your prescriptions filled EARLY. They will give you these at your pre-op appointment about 7 to 10 days before surgery. This is when you pay your remaining balance to Magnolia; mine was another $3,223. They take the $550 for consultation/surgery booking off of your original balance. My total to Magnolia was $3,773. I paid the final $1,000 to the surgery center and $300 for anesthesia on Friday morning of my surgery. At your pre-op appointment they will also give you an order for blood work. It's $100 PLUS tax, which came out to $105.60. If you use Orseck's Spartanburg office, you can go right downstairs to LabCorp and get it done there. It's convenient, but I did not like this place. It seemed a bit dirty and made me feel uncomfortable. Research other places if you want to take the time to go somewhere else.

At my pre-op appointment, I told them I knew I wanted to go bigger, so Dr. Orseck suggested either 450cc or 500cc. He let me see the implants and try them on in the bra. They also let me view some before/after photos. He said my frame would absolutely be okay holding larger implants, which made me feel great about my decision. I still wavered on choosing the final implant size so they ordered BOTH for me! I thought this was wonderful and they let me think on it for the next week.

The morning of my surgery, I was so nervous and still couldn't decide on my size. Also, take a valium the night before surgery to relax your nerves and your muscles! They suggest this in your paperwork; read it thoroughly! Dr. Orseck arrived and saw me in the waiting room (I had to wait only a total of 5 minutes) and sat right down beside me with his bag. He showed me both boxes of implants and asked if I had decided. The fact that he took the time to sit with me and ask how I was doing completely calmed me and made me feel good about what I was doing. He suggested going larger, because no one ever regrets going slightly larger. He was right! My outcome was great and I love my new, full breasts! Every day they become softer and more natural-looking and feeling. My boyfriend got to stay right with me until they wheeled me back for surgery. He said they called him back to come see me about 40 minutes later. It was so quick! After some recovery time we got to go home and I slept most of the day.

Know what you want and if you are not sure, Dr. Orseck and his staff will work with you. My R.N. was so sweet and caring. When I had to call for a refill of medication and saw her to pick up the prescription, she took the time to speak with me and ask about my recovery process. They will answer any questions you have and work with you through the entire process.

Dr. Orseck is incredible. Everyone at Magnolia and the Surgery Center at Pelham were so kind, caring, and professional. I could not have asked for a better experience. Ask questions! Ask what type of implant is best and how they will perform the procedure. They will explain how and why they are doing what they are doing. Dr. Orseck is very professional and will be knowledgeable about what is best for your body. The time he spent with me just before my surgery changed my entire experience. When he sat down to speak with me about implant size, I became more confident about my decision and all of my anxiety was relieved.
