I have three children and despite working out and eating well still had a tummy. I also have hypothryoidism that did not get treated until this year. I did the tuck yesterday and the pain is bearable today. Yesterday I thought i was going to die. Today is so much better. My husband has been taking real good care of me. I am happy that I did this just cant wait to see it.

day #2 post op. All I want to do is sleep. i dont care about eating. I get up walk for 10-20mins and then take a nap, very weird for me.

You are going to pull through this just fine.  Rest as much as you are able to do so the first two weeks and keep up on the pain meds and fluids.  You will not have much of an appetite for a while but that will come back.

Do try to eat some whole grains and lean protein and this will help in your healing process.  You don't have to eat much, only small amounts.

The first week is the worst and from there you will notice it getting better and better.

Keep us up to date on how you are doing.  Congratulations!

PO day #3 was okay. I went grocery shopping with my husband and then clothes shopping for my children. I stopped taking the Lortab during the day. I only take it at night. I finally had a huge bowel movemnet. That made me very happy.
PO day #4. I am a little more tired today. Still only taking the Lortabs at night. My daughter is helping me fold the clothes. I like that I am feeling more normal. I am swollen a little today. Oh well I wore jeans today.

Day #5 I went to Church today. I am very tired. I have really bad gas and some swelling.

Day #6 stitches out, okayed to do light exercise and go back to work. The stitches coming out wasn't so bad.

Day #7 did the the treadmill at 3.5 and went up to an incline of 8 over a half an hour. then the elleptical for 30 mins. felling okay. just so swollen.

Day #8 I am back at work. I could use a nap. I hate this swelling. Need it to go away.

Day #9 Today I discovered that on the 16th straight hour of work that 15 hours is plenty. The swelling sucks and I want to go home.

Day #10 I slept 3 hours and back to work I go. Today wasn't bad. I walked for 38mins on my lunch. This swelling needs to go. I would be so happy it is going to go. I am just to pray to Jesus that my body absorbs this extra liquid and have faith. I love the way everything looks so far. I think I will burn this binder when I am down with it.

It is 2 weeks +3 days and I feel so good. I am wearing a spanx type garment and am no longer wearing the abdominal binder. The swelling is so much better. I am so happy with my belly. I am lifting weights again at the gym. I am walking at my presurgery speed. Work is so much easier. The only problem is sleeping. That is just because I am a side sleeper and have to wake up to switch sides and that isn't fun. Otherwise it is so good.

Today is day 21. I love my belly and having my waist back. all my pants and shorts will need a belt. Work is easier. sleeping is getting better. I even went out without the spanx type garments. that just felt weird. My husband and I are going to Jamaica in 11 days. I went tanning today to get a base. I covered both scars and used a very liberal amount of sunscreen. I really fell good.

Today is day 26 almost 4 weeks. Everything is so good. I thank God for that. I am healing and absorbing the the extra fluid so fast. I was able to jog for the first time last Wednesday, boy did that feel good. Today I did fifty crunches. I have pushed stretchers at work and helped move patients. I feel like I am 90% back to pre surgery strength. The only complaint is the stupid spanx. I can not wait to be done wearing it. It is so constrictive. 6 day untils my trip and only 3 more days to work.

Well it has been eight weeks and I am so happy with my new tummy. I am working just like before the surgery. I am working out at almost the same level, It is just a little less intense. I am doing sit ups and crunches. I went to Jamaica with my husband and wore bathing suits with confidence for the first time in my life. I went to a water park and rode down water slides, which I was a little worried about. It was fine no problems. I have a little swelling still but nothing to complain about. I think I gained weight this last week due to intense PMS and carb craving. I need to get that under control. Overall I am very happy.

It has been eight months, since my surgery. I love my flat belly and skinny waist line. I love everything about it, even my belly button. The scar is starting to fade, and I cover it when I tan. I ran a marathon in October, finished with a faster time then last time. Which is great, because of less training time. very awesome, This is still the best thing I ever did.
You are rocking that bikini! That is exactly the type of bathing suit I want to wear and if could look as good as you in it I'd be thrilled. I have my consult on Tuesday this week and can't wait. I'm pretty tall and also am a running enthusiast.mom of 3.
.I get the "you don't need a tummy tuck" all the time but look like I have elephant skin all over my lower belly and will NOT wear a bikini....I will BURN my tankinis after my TT, thanks for sharing your picture, :)K

Rochester Plastic Surgeon

Dr. M is very good. He is straight to the point and that makes him seem a little curt. Great team and Dr. M is awesome with the anesthesia.
