Hi everyone! I have been obsessing over this site...
Hi everyone! I have been obsessing over this site for a few months now and have finally decided to take the plunge and post my own review! Dont know why but this seems like a major step for me. I seem to have the same story as most of you ladies on her, started developing really young, had two children, and now at the age of 26 I seem to have the boobs of a woman triple my age! I'm from South Africa, and down here the people are not as open about cosmetic surgery as they appear to be in the states, so finding this forum was a God send to me, as I have never met anyone who has had a reduction, and most people I know have been blessed with average sized chests, so no one seems to understand where I am comming from! I am not sure if our sizings are the same as UK and US sizes, but here I am 34 DD, which is WAY too small but I have yet to find a bigger cup size that has a band size smaller than a 40, so I have to settle for a poor fitting bra. I have wanted to do this since I was 15yrs old. Our medical aid's (insurance) in South Africa do not cover breast reductions, so no matter how desperate I was for this I simple could not have it done...not until I managed to save up that is, and the time has finally arrived for me. I saw a PS last month, loved him straight away, so I went home and my husband and I spoke about it at great length and a week later I booked my date!!! 5 July it will be:-) I am so thrilled, I could not be happier, seems mad to be so excited about having surgery, but I'm sure you ladies will understand. Happy healing to all you ladies on the flip side, I look forward to being there with you soon.
Wow, been meaning to update but time is just...
Wow, been meaning to update but time is just flying! My surgery day is tomorrow and I am so overly excited, don't know how I am going to sleep tonight. I had my pre op appointment last Friday 29/06 and it went really well, my PS answered all my questions and eased my mind about a few little worries. I agreed to have a little lipo on the under arm area...and here's the great news, he's throwing that in for FREE!!! Awesome I tell you, tho I must admit I think I am most terrified of the lipo, just seems such a strange thing to do, sucking fat out your armpit, but then again cutting half your boob off doesnt seem entirly normal either does it;-). But anyway, the PS said most of the pain will be in the lipo area, but I will be staying in hospital for 2 nights so I am sure they will keep me medicated to a point that it won't worry me too much...I hope! The PS also recons he will remove approx 1.1kg's from each breast because of the density of them and he says it will still leave me in a C cup, can you believe it, thats a wopping 2.2kg's (4.8lbs) total, thats a whole lot of boob if you ask me. I am so ready for this, can not believe the day is almost here. I had one of those 'why you doing this, your boobs aren't even that big' comments the other day, I simply replied 'you won't understand cos your boobs are tiny'! Those comments are so annoying, you don't just wake up one morning and say, hey, im going to make my boobs smaller today, alot of thought has been put into this decision, the last thing you need is people putting doubt in your mind, so I am really greatful for all the encouraging messages you see on this forum. So, lets all say a little prayer for tomorrow and I will update as soon as im up to it. Happy healing to all the other ladies out there!
My goodness, here I am, more than two weeks post...
My goodness, here I am, more than two weeks post op, and I can honestly say this has been the best decision of my life, I am so glad I did this now instead of 10/20 yrs down the line. My surgery was on the 5 July. I got to the hospital at 12:00pm, went to my PS office for him to do my markings, had a few laughs, he reasured me that all would be well, was in the hospital bed by 1pm and being taken into theatre at 13:20, at which point I experienced my first hiccup, the anethatist could not find a vein for my IV, this always happens to me, so no surprises there, however the poking and proding did hurt like hell and left me with more bruises on my hands and wrists than my boobs from surgery, (fortunatly I asked for a pre-med, so didn't really care at this point) and from there its all anceint history, I don't even remember waking up in the recovery room, all I remember is them bringing me into my hospital room, seeing my husband and noticing the time, it was 17:30. Generally speaking I felt fine, no nausea or anything like that, just a burning sensation all over my chest as well as pain on my left side where the drain was inserted. I spent the next 2 nights in hospital with no complications, slept most of the time. Got a peek at the new girls straight after theatre and absolutly fell in love with them, my PS said all the ladies in the theatre remarked how good they look, so I was very pleased! So far my recovery has been somewhat effortless, mainly tired and achy, but nothing I can not handle, I have really been very blessed in this recovery, I have had no oozing, minimal bruising, no signs of infection (my biggest fear) so over all I am VERY pleased. I see my PS on Thursday for my second post op, so will keep you all updated on what he has to say. Happy healing to all you post op ladies out there and good luck to all the pre op girls, will be thinking of you all.
Okay, so I am 1 month and 1 day post op and I...
Okay, so I am 1 month and 1 day post op and I could not be happier with my new boobs, they are absolutely perfect to me. I finally got the nerve to upload some pics, I remember searching this page looking at all the pic's hoping to find someone similar to me, so I hope this will help someone in their journey! I still have some swelling and bruising, but nothing much, all in all I am a very happy lady, hope everyone is healing well and good luck to all the pre op girls, I'll be thinking of you all.
Thanks for all the compliments, it's wonderful to...
Thanks for all the compliments, it's wonderful to know that other people think they look just as good as I think! I really am truely happy that I had this surgery, I am so in love with these new girls, I think my PS was an absolute artist! I am already starting to forget that my boobs were not always this beautiful. But now the really annoying thing is that every store I have been into to "try" do some bra shopping only seems to have DD cups and bigger, and NO non-underwire's!!! What are the odds, when I had a big chest all I could ever find were non-wired teeny tiny bra's, but now that I want them I don't seem to come across any! SO FRUSTRATING! Oh well, I am still meant to be in the surgical bra for a few more weeks, so they will just have to do for now, and besides, not sure if I'm the only one who feels this way, but I am beyond freaked out trying on bra's in stores for fear that some germ is going to hop off the bra and some how infect my (perfectly healed) incissions! Haha, completely irrational I know, but a girls got to have her quirks I guess!
Please stay away from my house. Thank you. :))
Oh ya, and CONGRATULATIONS ON A SPECTACULAR OUTCOME!!!!!
I've copied your before and after pics to show my PS. Yours are definitely how i want mine to be- just perfect! Well done you!
x x
I shared your same fear of germ-hopping - lol! Even all closed up. I just taped my incisions whenever trying something on. May not have done ANYTHING, but made me feel a bit more secure!
The other thing you can do (and yes, I did it before I could tape) was take a really think (non-shelf) cami - I picked one up at Walmart for $5.00, took it home, washed it and used it under all the bras I tried on. Don't even ask me about the bottle of hand sanitizer I used between bras. I'm not OC, but I was DEFINITELY super cautious! Best of luck when you do start the bra dance - lol! You'll spend more time admiring yourself in fitting room mirrors than you ever thought possible. I'm pretty sure one store was ready to start charging me rent!
Oh my gosh! What an incredible difference! You look so amazing! Congratulations:-D Thanks for sharing the pictures!
