Worth It
Spent: $3,000 in San Carlos, CA
I had wanted for so long to do this and put it off mostly because of cost. I am so happy I did it. This is one of those procedures I rave to people about. It has changed my life, no kidding: no more waxing appointments, no more shaving, no more wondering whether I am "swimsuit or bare leg ready". I am relatively fair skinned with coarse dark brown hair, so I was a good candidate for laser hair removal. After years of shaving, I started waxing because I would have stubble even hours after shaving, and shaving actually would hurt sometimes. I waxed for 10 years, which I pretty much liked, but it required letting the hair grow out in between and carefully planning appointments around vacations and pool parties. I had laser done at a dermatologist's office on my underarms and full leg. It was no more painful than waxing. I ended up with about 6-7 treatments overall, totalling about $3000 (I know, very pricey). 2 years later, I am essentially hair-free. I will sweep a razor across my underarms and legs maybe once a month to remove the few stray hairs that grow, but otherwise I never even think about it.
