Rhinoplasty with Dr. Marotta -Smithtown, NY

There is a small bump at the bridge that my doctor thinks is a callus - I am doing massage and hope that will help to reduce it.

I waited until the one month mark (tomorrow) but could really have updated at 3 weeks. That was the first time that I noticed that I looked more like myself again - didn't realize that the swelling was in my face and around my nose and forehead also! One day last week that just went away and my smile was back :) The tip and columella is still hard and numb so I know that I have some swelling there still and some days I notice the swelling much more in the morning than others but overall I can see such an improvement. I am no longer self conscious when I enter a store or someone pulls up next to me at a light! Most importantly I had a job interview and the four interviewers were seated at either side of a conference table - normally I would definitely have been thinking about how my profile was visible and it was wonderful to not even think about that except for to think how nice it was not to think about it lol. I know that the swelling will go down and there will be more definition in the months to come but I am already so happy with it and used to the way I look now. I am so happy with my choice of surgeon and only regret that I didn't do it sooner!

I know that this is an exercise in patience - and thank goodness for good friends and this sight for keeping me calm! I have decided to update this as I go along and hopefully be able to share my experience as someone that is waiting to see what the results will be. I read a lot about some people not being happy but never know what the end result turned out to be so hopefully I can help some people along the way too. I will post a monthly picture and monitor the progress of swelling so everyone can get an idea of the changes they could expect - thanks to all of you that have posted your stories!
