Worth It
Spent: $822 in Damansara Utama, Malaysia

Hi!

I did Smartlipo on the 23rd of October, 48 hours ago. My problem areas area my saddlebags! I'm 39 yrs old with 3 kids, 7, 4, 2 yrs old. I weigh 123 lbs, 5' 4'' tall. I've always had problems with my outer thighs.

So after consulting with a local doc who has extensive experience doing laser lipolysis (he perfomed the conventional liposuction before the Smartlipo technology reached our shores!), it cost me MYR3,000 (appr. USD822).

I was awake the whole time throughout the procedure, i felt some pain on some areas, but otherwise i was chatting non-stop with the doc, asking him a whole load of questions! The amount taken out from my outer thighs was 1.9 litres, doc said...pure fat, pure fat...several times!

The oozing was quite heavy, I soiled my bedsheet!, and after that followed somebody here who used sanitary pads in place of the gauze, the soiling stopped, managed to contain the leaking with tht method...thanks to whoever that is! The oozing stopped today (2nd day), and I use band-aid to cover the incisions ( I hve 4).

I bandaged my thighs for 48 hours, now I'm wearing a girdle.Amazingly, I havent had any swelling...perhaps it's too soon?? Those who have done the saddlebags, did u ladies get the swelling immediately or a few days after? I do have some bruises and aches moving around, esp after being stationary for while.

The good thing is I could see the saddlebags completely gone now! my thighs are straight now from the front-view...no longer those 2 extra pieces sticking out from the sides! The thighs also look much slimmer. Im worried because I read that it takes a weeks/months to see result...but im seeing it already after 2 days! Does tht mean my thighs will go smaller after this???

I will give more updates in a month!!

Review after 11 days of Smartlipo...

My bruises are fading fast. Moving around is much easier...no more aches when standing and sitting. Just a slight sore. Skin is also less tender...now I can rub the thighs with ginger cream with more pressure. Im wearing girdles for 24 hours. Doc says after 2 weeks, i can reduce it to 16 hours...and less and less time in it as time goes by.

Im still looking for compression garments, i think It's important to get the optimal result. I'm considering doing my lovehandles next...suddenly they look very much bigger now tht the thighs are slimmer!

Will post pics when I no longer need to wear these girdles!

Please post some pics. I'm so happy for you. The cost over there is cheap eh?

Due to the exchange rate and the fact that the USD has strengthened quite considerably the last few weeks, yes the cost may seem cheaper. But if you compare dollar-to-dollar...it'd be similar. The average monthly income here is RM4,000. But if you're earning in USD...weheyyy!...everything will be much cheaper here! We do have Medical Tourism here...with the amount you pay over there in the US, u will get a holiday and a surgery to boot! Hehehhehe!

I saw results with my stomach (banana roll!)within a day! If you leaked a lot, you might now swell much. Wear your compression garment as much as you can. Also, if you feel any lumps, they do go away. It takes weeks for everything to even out. I am so happy for you. I am 5'0 and weigh 116. I have always had a poochy stomach. Not anymore.

Im so happy for you!! I saw result almost immediately too...so I got worried, thinking that my thighs would shrink smaller in a few weeks/months, much more than I'd like them to be! Lol! Yes, the oozing was quite intense...guess that's why I havent had any swelling. It's been 5 days...the bruising are showing signs of fading off. Sad to say, I didnt prepare myself with compression garments before the procedure. only after I did it...i googled and found them sold by websites in the US. Now I use the normal girdles...which I read may not be sufficient. I found one website that has an offer and selling the garments so cheaply!! Unfortunately, they dont ship outside of the US...uwaaaa! So my advice for those who wish to do this procedure...get urselves the first stage compression garments...with zippers and all...easy for u to go to the loo, to clean ur wounds and change your dressings. coz squeesing urself in a girdle..is pure torture!!! The treated areas are so tender, any pressure is going to make u sweat!

KL has a few places, Ayujelita is very cheap...half the price of Dermlaze where I did mine. But if ur ok with a place that lets the staff draw the plan on ur body...then by all means. I strongly feel the doc who is going to do u shld be doing it, not the staff! And I chose my doc cause he actually performed the traditional liposuction before we got this technology here in Malaysia. So his experience in this field is quite extensive. And he's actually trained in the field of medical aesthetic in the US and in the UK. Having said that...the people who have done smartlipo at Ayujelita still enjoy good results.

And one more thing...you will feel like going to the toilet quite often to urinate. So...get a compression garments with an open crotch!! :)

I did my upper and lower abdomen, love handles and chin at Dermlaze 4 weeks ago. Results? Fantastic just 4 weeks post op!Flatter tummy and countoured sides. And there's still more to go. ;-). Family and colleagues have noticed the change and compliments are coming in by the dozens. I feel you have to be realistic with your expectations. Do not train your mind to over-expect and you'll be fine. Contrary to other forums I've read I had no dimpling, dents etc etc. Aches? Yes ofcourse! Going to the toilet a million times? Yes the first few weeks, coz u're drinking alot of water to heal yourself + draining alot of fluids meant to be washed out. Bruising?(yellow and blue) Yes the first week. Hardness? Yes, but almost gone and hardly felt by now. What I honestly feel is that Dr. Jeswinder is an expert at what he does. That's why I did not go through the horror stories you hear on other forums, be it Malaysian or overseas ones. So if any of u out there are thinking of Smartlipo, just do yourslef a favour --- Get it from Dr. Jeswinder and save yourself the unnecessary headache. And please btw, do educate yourself on post-op care before your procedure. Being prepared will make your recovery sweeter :). Ladies & gentlemen, we DO have compression garments sold in Malaysia. Go get your garment from Amanita at Ampwalk, Ampang, a shop well stocked with compression garments located on the 1st Floor. They have different garments for different procedures. Wonderful and helpful staff who'll make u feel comfortable especially when u're trying them on for size. Garments are pricey as they are imported but worth the money considering the procedure. Educate yourself about the the procedure so u will have less anxiety. Remember, empower yourself with the gift of knowledge and look for the positives. Prepare your mind and body and walk in for the op with a positive attitude. And lastly, remember to love yourself for who u are. Love your inner soul first. The op is just your outer skin. All the best to all.

Hi! Its been ages since I last posted, and to answer to Amy's question - Yes, everything went well and its nearly a year post op. My tummy is alot flatter than it was before and I am back to skin tight blouses :) Btw Smartlipo does not get rid of yr cellulite. It primarily reduces inches. For cellullite I recommend endermologie treatment. What it does is that it sucks & rolls the cottage skin & breaks them down so that it smoothens out the surface of yr skin. U go from orange peel skin to smooth skin, get my drift? ;) It is like a massage machine rolled on to yr body for abt 45 minutes. U will begin to see the result in just abt 2-3 treatments but u must continue, be disciplined & consistent with the treatment to experience the full results of endermologie. It is worth it! I say smartlipo + endormologie combined will make a woman happy! Get rid of the fat + get rid of the cellulite! No more shying away frm shorts or swimsuits! Above all, be thankful & grateful for what u already have. Look for & count the number of positive things in your life. Happiness starts from loving your inner self first.
