“Worth it for the neck, but not the thighs”

Smart Lipo: NOT worth it

Cost: $7,500
Pain: Mild
Smart Lipo satisfaction: Fair2 Star Rating: Fair

I had it done on my neck and thighs/knees. I am pretty happy to lose the extra chin. There is some residual effect, in that you can see some of the cannula lines/scarring and since there is not fat there anymore, it just looks a little "older" because it did not tighten the skin at all, like it advertises. But i think its still better than the double chin.

It feels better to me and even though it does not look as good as i hoped it would, i am still pretty happy with the result. there is no numbness, etc. but you definitely do not get any skin tightening.

My thighs were not worth the money...there is a ridge above my knees from where the fat was taken out in the knee area vs the rest of my thigh. it does not look good and my knees only look a "little" better...not worth it for the ridge that was left. the neck cost $3k and the thighs/knees cost $4k.

May I ask how long it has been for you? I just had my neck done on 10/3 and am still waiting for the swelling and hard lump to go down. Did you have the lump effect too? If so haw long did it take to go away? I have heard that the tightening is not that great, but I plan to use a product call Relastin by Revance to tighten my neck back, you may want to look into it. I have a few friends that use it (age range 30-50) and they swear by it. Thanks!

Your comment didn't reflect when you had your procedures done, so working on the assuumption that it may have been recent I thought I'd offer a little encouragement. I had a full thigh job done on 7/1 (front, inside, back & outside). My doctor removed apx. 8,000 cc's of fluid, fat and blood, which she equated to somewhere around 12-14 lbs of fat! I swelled up like a walrus and went through weeks of wondering if I had made a huge mistake both physically and financially. Now for the good news. I have lost close to 20 lbs. and I'm back into a size 6. My thighs still have a couple of scar tissue spots, skin discoloration and a little sagging. Four weeks ago my doctor checked my legs and suggested I have LipoEx done to help break down the scar tissue and tighten the skin. I have had 4 treatments (at no cost to me - this is a procedure that costs $3,500 for a package of 8 treatments) and I have 3 more treatments scheduled. She is determined to provide me with the best result that she can and continues to remind me that it can take up to 8 mos to totally heal from a SmartLipo procedure. Bottom line is - if your procedure was recent hang in there. I continue to see improvement on a daily basis and look forward to the final result by next spring.

The doctor's website reflects Lipo-Ex to be ".. the newest non-invasive procedure for body size reduction, cellulite reduction, skin tightening and reduction of visceral fat." I am 56 and had apx. 13 lbs. of fat removed from my thighs. Much to my surprise, post SL I didn't have a lot of loose skin, but was advised that LipoEx would help tighten any loose skin, in addition to smoothing out residual lumps and breaking down scar tissue. She doctor set me up for 4 comp treatments and so far so good. The scar tissue is down to almost nothing, skin is tightening up nicely and I'm much closer to the finished product I was hoping for. The doc has booked an additional 3 comp treatments for me as she is determined to provide me with an acceptable end result. LipoEx is totally non-invasive and painless. It's my understanding that some people have opted for this procedure to reduce fat rather than having SL done. Hope this info is helpful to you.
