Smart Lipo Definitely is a Long, Tiresome, and Imperfect Process

Not Worth It
Spent: $12,000 in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania

I had smart lipo of my upper and lower abs, arms, and bra fat area. The recovery process is lenghty and the results do not look natural.

Infact I didn't even see any kind of measurable result on the bra fat and arms. I didn't have much fat to begin with.

On my stomach I had more fat. And a lot of it was removed. However, I have pockets of fat now. And my stomach is harder and bulges aboved my belly botton, goes in and then pops a little under my ribs. This surgery is just that. Don't be fooled by the quick and easy advertising.

It hurt when I sneezed for a week. When I went over a bump in the car, I could feel some pain. Basically your insides are being probed and dug into with this skinny tube. Then the muscle has to reattach again.

It is now 5 months out for me and I finally stopped wearing a garment. I tried to stop after six weeks, but I felt like I needed the support, plus my stomach looked pretty bad until this last month.

The doctor told me I need a "TOUCH UP". I love the term touch up as if it were a less invasive quicky. It is still the same process, but usually less area needs to be tampered with.

I won't get this touch up until summer is over, because I do not want to ruin it.

I am sorry to hear about your results. Maybe Smart Lipo is a good procedure, but I have read every single review posted on this website and it seems like everyone has unsatisfactory results that has visited the Monarch Med Spa in the King of Prussia check thru the Smart Lipo cost map and look at everyone who had the procedure done in King of Prussia, PA. Maybe with another facility your results will be more promising.... Good luck and I wish you the very best.

I'm sorry to hear that you're unhappy with your result. I went to sleek medspa in Natick, MA. I had my inner thighs and arms done and I'm very happy with the result so far. My arms aren't sore anymore, just my legs now. You HAVE TO...MASSAGE, MASSAGE, MASSAGE with an oil and the hard spots will go away faster. I also took arnica pills for the swelling and the arnica gel helps the bruises go away quicker than later. It's exactly 12 days and I have not one bruise left. At first I didn't see anything different, but now I notice my arms are toning up and I can see my thighs are smoothing down also. As the days/weeks go on, you'll notice the improvement/look of your smart lipo. Everybody seems to be different and it takes time for the final result. I even can get in my jeans with ease that I couldn't get into before I had the smart lipo done. I'm sorry you had a bad experience, maybe it depends on the doctor?

Ann Elizabeth: Hi, I have an appointment next week for a consultation in Natick. Is there only one doctor performing this procedure at Sleek? What do you think about him? Good bedside manners, technique, etc. Also what areas did you have done and how did the price compare. I also have a consultation in Fall River (smart lipo of NE); did you check them out? Thanks

Anyone out there deciding whether to go to Monarch Med Spa for Smart Lipo...please don't!!! I know 3 people that work there and have received behind the scenes information. Contact me directly if you want more information or simply do your research. There are hardly no good reviews on Monarch Med Spa....

To xccheer: There is only the 1 doctor, but he is good. Never have someone work on your body uless they are BOARD-certified and have done this. I researched the doctor at sleek and he is Dr. Edwin Ishoo, MD He was a surgeon and graduate of University School of Medicine in Michigan. he went to Berkley in California, Boston University, etc. He IS also board-certified in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck surgeon, including facial plastics, reconstructive surgery, specializing in cervicofacial surgery, including facial rejuvenation, liposuction and contouring. The guy has been around and is experienced and that's what you want. I had my upper arms and inner thighs done. Make sure you emphasize which area really bothers you so he specifically marks it. If you have let's say a bump on your left thigh that really bothers you, say it more than once, say to the doctor something like"Make sure you get that bump, okay?" That's so it stays in his mind what bothers you. You have to speak up, to get the better result. They do not supply the garment to wear. I ordered mine from MedicoInternational. com or 1-877-411-7009. They are a lot cheaper than the 3 companies they give you to call. I ordered arm and thigh garment by phone and the woman on the phone was a sweethaeart. I think her name was Jean. In my opinion, always wear them, it keeps the swelling down, and make sure there are no wrinkles in the garment. If there is, that means you need a smaller size. This company's garments are true to size. As far as your consultation in fall river...I did not check them out.

I had it done in Charlotte NC and I am permanently disfigured. They sell these fire on a stick machine's to anyone that will buy one. Beware. My Dr. touted himself as the official smart lipo trainer in the country. He also claimed 5 board certifications which I later found to be false. Check your local medical board and the American board of medical specialties to confirm board certifications of whomever you use.

Wow, I am 3 weeks now and I don't wear my garment during the day and I'm fine. I don't even feel like I need to wear it at night, but they say it helps with the contouring. I am very happy with the way I look, guess I'm lucky. I just can't imagine going in to make yourself look better and coming out worse. That is horrific! I feel bad for you. I went on the computer and got my doctor's credentials. That is good advice you're giving to anybody reading this to check the doctor's experience, board certification, etc. It's too bad your good advice had to be at your expense. I hope things work out for you, I'll say a prayer for you tonight.

I was thinking about having this done at Monarch, due to recession the total cost was down to 6000, but it sounds like that's not even worth it. I hope you are able to recover further Sky24, sounds like you had an unpleasant experience

You should check other comments on this site and see other people's experiences at Monarch before you commit. I'm from massachusetts and I had a good experience at Sleek in Natick. Check out who the doctor is also and see if he was/is a plastic surgeon and what area he specialized in and how long he has been doing lipo. This is your body and what a doctor does on you is for life, so do your research before committing to anything. If you do a little homework first, like me, you'll probably have a good experience and like how you look. I know I do.

To Studdag... Are you in Pennsylvania? I'm not from your area, I'm from Boston. Go on the computer and type in "Smart Lipo/Pennsylvania" There are some sites on there you can research. One doctor looked good to me as far as his credentials. You would have to research him and other sites to see who has gone to him and their experiences. Keep researching and don't give up. For you to consider smart lipo, that means you really would like it done. I am HAPPY I had it done. So, even if it is a pain to keep researching, if you don't get it done you will always have that want inside of you. So, DON'T RUSH, go on these blogs/sites and ask about the doctor/place and keep looking, get feedback and keep asking questions. Eventually, some people will answer your concerns like I did!
