Seroma??

Yesterday I went back into the doctors office to take the splint off my nose and get the drained taken out. For the past 3 days it hurt so very bad to sit back on a chair. The area on my lower back which had lipo performed on it was very swollen. It turns out that I had a seroma develop there. What is a seroma?

A seroma is:
An accumulation of fluid in a tissue or organ that can occur after surgery, or sometimes after an injury such as blunt trauma. The fluid, called serum, leaks out of nearby damaged blood and lymphatic vessels. Cells are typically present in the fluid, which is normally clear. If this is left untreated it can be life threatening.

The doctor used a long needle to extract the fluid from my back and as soon as he did that it did feel better. The nurse said I probably will need to have this done again in 5 days when I go back. It still hurts to sit back on a chair but not as bad as it did.

My splint on my nose also came off and let me tell you that I was very worried. I told him that I do not want the pinched look. It was definitely pinched and when I saw this I couldn't even hear the nurse or the doctor when they were talking. I expected to feel elated but that wasn't how I ended up feeling.
I wanted to cry. The doctor did say that it was going to settle down more even as soon as a few hours. I kept asking him if this was going to change over and over. He probably was annoyed with me at that point. To make this more exciting ( not) the columella was very long. He assured me that this also will settle down. I still had a lot of swelling that needs to go away and that this part will be great too. The drive home was terrible because I just could't believe what it looked like. I kept looking in the mirror as if it was going to magically change the next. Well, the next day the swelling did go down some and the pinched look is getting better. I can now see that when it has a week or two to heal it will look really good. In the meantime my back is starting to hurt from being hunched over from my tt. My stomach is sooooooooo tight and it feels as if its getting tighter as the days go on. I know this is normal, I just have to stay positive and slowly try to stand up straighter very time I get up. I know when this is all over I will be so happy that I helped my self to get back to myself. :)

Wow ....the pain!

Its not Monday but It's day 6 now at 4:22 am, I just woke up by the worst burning pain in all the areas I had lipo. This is so painful! But, whoa this is some serious [RS bleep]! My stomach doesn't hurt as much as my liposuctioned areas...why? Gotta call nurse in the morning. Alright just took a pain pill, let's hope it works fast!

omg....the pain!

Rhinoplasty! My surgery was april 13, 2015. The pain from the lipo was the worst pain I've experienced in my life....including childbirth! The first night was the worst, second day tiny bit better but still bad and 3rd day was when it sub sighted. Don't get me wrong it still hurts but not as bad. My rhino was no big deal compared to everything else. I'm still happy I made this decision but " no pain no gain" right?! Let me tell you about trying to go to the bathroom after a TT & lipo. That was very tricky! So to avoid getting peed on I ( I know this is gross but whatever) used a large plastic throw away cup to pee in. This way I didn't get it all down my legs like the first 2 days! Now I can actually sit and pee and it's not a problem anymore. It's been 4 days now and it's getting better. I have to be honest in really nervous r about Monday's doctors appointment. He will take out the drain and the splint off my nose. I really hope I like what he did to my nose. I'm scared he gave me a nose that isn't me. I just wanted a smaller profile. I wish it was Monday already I hate waiting! I'll get back to you on Monday.

Doctor is very nice and his staff is wonderful! Judging by his pictures he's pretty good at rhinoplasty and TT. I guess for now that's all I can say.
