My family doctor say I am healthy for my height...
My family doctor say I am healthy for my height and weight. I wanted to improve my body contour (my neck, abdominal, and arms), therefore I worked out for 5 years and make little progress losing the fat on those area(I believe it's genetic) that is when I turned to liposuction.
I did research on many plastic surgeons and finally I found a plastic surgeon who was trained at Harvard and Yale University and also double board certified in plastic surgery. I was so excited I set up a consultation to meet him. I waited over 2 hours before he can meet with me to have a consultation. I fell asleep waiting for him. I told him my story and he reassured me that I am good candidate for liposuction. He guaranteed me that all liposuction redone are at no charge, if he made a mistake. I had a difficulties understanding my plastic surgeon because of his deep Polish accent. I waited a few weeks later and got another consultation to clarify and verified we were both on the same page from his and my expectation and also what results I want from surgery. I waited about 1 1/2 hour to see him. Of course, I am a reasonable person and I am realistic that my liposuction will not be perfect.
I got tumescent and cool liposuction surgery in Skokie, IL about January 2010. I remembered a former patient was at the clinic and she was obviously upset because I can hear her yelling at my plastic surgeon. My plastic surgeon was dealing with her meanwhile I was put under general anesthesia. When I woke up I did not see my plastic surgeon because he left the facility. Thank God, the nurse was there supervising my recovery.
Obviously, everything that happened right before my surgery make me feel worried about my surgery. When I got home I realized I have a large area of bump/swelling on the left side and upper abdominal area. Of course, my body was swelling and uneven but this large bump/swelling looks drastically different. I visited my plastic surgeon the next morning. He reassured me that the swelling will go away in a few months. I decided to be patient and I waited 5 months and had a follow up appointment to check out this large bump/swelling which was still at it's same size. He told me it will get smaller.
I am starting to not trust him and his advices. I consulted with a few other plastic surgeon around the area. These plastic surgeons told me that my plastic surgeon did not suck out the fat and there are dead fat cells underneath the large bump/swelling. I told my plastic surgeon about the surrounding area plastic surgeons advices for me. He then told me that I am hard to please and refused to redo my liposuction. I feel that I have been taken advantage of.
I would never recommend anyone to get liposuction from my plastic surgeon, unless if you're rich and willing to throw your money away. The economy is not doing well and I don't have that kind of money to waste. If you want to find out who is this plastic surgeon and not a member of realself.com please sign up to create yourself an account to view his contact information above. Only after my surgery I heard I am the only patient my plastic surgeon messed up. There are some former patient that are unsatisfied with my plastic surgeon's liposuction.
I will scan and upload my before and after photos soon.
