I had my first child at age 19 and she was 9 lbs 5 oz.....I weighed 110 lbs, 5'5" height. She is 23 yrs old now and I had 2 more girls after that. My goal was to have a tummy tuck by age of 40 however I ended up waiting until age 43. I have pretty much always been a size 8 but recently gained wait to be a size 10 before surgery. The con's to this surgery is the doctors dont really tell you how hard and serious the surgery is. I was down and out for a full week bf I could even leave the house for a short time. I have always been fit so I renewed my gym membership and cant wait til I can hit the gym! I just want to look good in a 2 piece when I go to the Dominican with my soon to be husband in April 2013.

I am almost 6 weeks post op and I still have to...

I am almost 6 weeks post op and I still have to wear my compression garment about 8 hrs a day. I am still a bit swollen and am frustrated that I cannot get in to my jeans yet and I have not gone down a size. When does this change? I have been eating lots of citrus and started my scar treatment although my scar is extremely tiny. I really was looking forward to at least going down one pant size and am very surprised that hasnt happened!

I just started back working out with my INSANITY!!...

I just started back working out with my INSANITY!! I am still not able to get in to smaller clothes but I believe this is because I ate too much during holidays while laying around and then got the flu....more laying around. I am the exact same weight as when I had my surgery so now I am on a liquid protein diet with 1 solid green(organic) meal in the evening. Plenty of water and low cal juices as well as my multi vitamins. I have until April 18 to drop at least 17lbs!
I am still glad I had the surgery but I wish I had gotten flank lipo with it.....

Dr Oneal was recommended by a co-worker. After visiting 2 other surgeons in TX where I live I felt the cost, experience, and past work photos were not nearly as good as Dr Oneal. You have to have a vision to put a body back together after child birth and he did a beautiful job!!

Yes I am measuring bigger as well. Plus it was right at Thanksgiving....oops! I am doing good on my eating but am ready to at least start doing something at the gym even if its just a little. I have until April to get back in shape....take care!! And keep me posted!!

Hang in there , my changes have also been less dramatic than some, but just like you my preop belly was not as dramatic ( hope that makes sense).

Hello, please read what I posted this morning, I hope it helps you. I am 6 weeks PO also, and felt the same way you are feeling. You are right, this is a very hard journey, in my opinion, the healling process and recovery time is the worst! The surgery was a breeze, but the swelling and looking at other peoples pics and thinking, why r they so flat and I am not is a real bummer. Each day it gets better, I promise you.

How are you feeling now? Are you still swollen? I am one week post op and know just what you mean, that first week is tough.

I am almost 4 weeks post op and yes still swollen. That can last 3 months my Dr said. I wear my commpression garments more than I am without them I still cant get in any smaller clothes but hopefully that will go down soon.

Abby....how are you feeling now? I am still swollen but not as much. Still cant get in to smaller clothes :( but I am hoping that changes soon! Remember to eat lots of citrus it really does speed up the healing, oh and take a multi vitamin! I went through the regret stages week 2 & 3.

I am feeling much more chipper. I am swollen more than I would like; my waist measures three inches bigger than post op and I'm up about five pounds, BUT I know this is temporary. I am having almost no pain unless I overdo it, and then it's mostly my back. I am so shocked at the ab definition I see already. Who knew under all that flub that the pilates was really doing something! LOL Starting to get antsy about not being able to exercise but I am following PS's orders to give it time to heal first. All in all, I am feeling super and grateful!
