I started having to wear a bra in 2nd grade which I hated! I've always had large breast and having Scoliosis didn't help either. With on going weight problems due to thyroid and back pain I decided at the age of 40 it's time to have surgery. I went online searching for a great Dr in my area, Shreveport, L.A.. I did find one that was 61 years of age so I knew he had lots of experience. I felt he was the best one in my area and I had asked a few people if they'd heard of him too. Every time I said his name they all said he was great they had heard. Keep in mind I had not spoken to anyone in person, that had seen him themselves. Well my first appointment he looked at me and measured me. Then we talked about my back pain caused from being a size G. I told him I wanted to become a size B because I know my body and how it reacts to me gaining weight. I knew I needed to be a B to keep from ever being a D or more. Well Dr. Seemed to understand me very well with my concerns. They took before pictures of me just for me to see the before and after he says. Well the surgery day came which was outpatient. The LAST thing I remembered telling the Dr was that I wanted more than 1,000cc's taken from both. I knew it had to be more than that for me to become a B size. I was in surgery over four hours. Be sure before you have surgery to purchase a surgery bra or 4" wide ace bandages to keep yourself wrapped in. Surgery went well and pain wasn't bad as long as I used ice packs and pain meds the first week. I went back on day three after surgery to have drainage tubes removed. Once this has been removed you'll feel so much better. Removing the tubes did hurt some but like I said once it's finished its smooth sailing after that. Well I did have to take an extra week of antibiotics due to still running fever some. Before my three week return visit I measured myself the way they measure you for a new bra. I was not happy I knew I may have been a little swollen but it shouldn't have been that much. I measured myself and was a D cup size. I cried, so disappointed in my size. I went to the Dr. and I asked him why was I a D? He looked at me then kinda away from me and said well I just couldn't imagine your husband wanting you that small. Then when I told him I felt like one nipple might be higher than the other he measured and said it was fine. Then he said this wasn't cosmetic surgery I had surgery because of my back pain. Then he said the insurance company said he had to take at least 750cc. He said he took 950 from one and 1050 from the other. I asked if I had to come back anymore for any other check-up, he said no and left the room as fast as he could. Probably because I had tears in my eyes and what else could he say.... So I won't be recommending this Dr. and can't say it enough know your Dr.TAlk to someone else that's used him before for the same thing. I still can't wear bra so be sure you also buy comfy sports bras. The Dr was Barron O'Neal plastic surgeon Shreveport,L.A.. I hope and pray sharing this helps others wanting a breast reduction.
