One week post op!

It's exactly 7 days since my surgery. The changes in just one week have been unbelievable! After feeling awful afterwards with much worse pain than I imagined, walking all hunched over and not even being able to sleep in my bed to feeling fairly comfortable, walking pretty upright and laying comfortably in bed (with 7 pillows!) and I can even lay on my side :-)
I'm happy [RS bleep]

Pictures :-)

Attempting to upload a few more pics. One of where they marked my prior to surgery, a pic of my tummy immediately post op in bed that I cannot even remember taking and one of my naval on day 3 when I was a little worried about the dressing so the nurse told me to look at it. X

Day 5 post op :-)

Well........this has been quite a journey so far! I attempted to update on day 3 but it didn't work then I lost what I'd written and didn't have the energy to write it again!
So I'm trying again!
Firstly I should say that I'm feeling so much better today than a few days ago. The pains easing off and I'm able to stand fairly straight today which is good. My abdomen has been so tight that I couldn't straighten up properly for days and my PS actually recommended not standing tall till around day 5 to protect the muscle repair. At the same time though I was determined to do a bit of light walking about the house to prevent DVT which just left me with really awful backache on top of the tummy tuck pain.
After sleeping in the profiling hospital bed for two nights post op, returning to my own flat, normal bed was a shock!! I usually love my bed more than anything but when I tried lying down in it when I got home from hospital I cried! It was so uncomfy! Even when I tried stuffing pillows everywhere and wedging myself into a nest of pillows I just couldn't tolerate it and ended up sleeping on my sofa downstairs. For two nights I slept on the sofa and last night...........I MADE IT BACK INTO MY OWN BED!!! Things are honestly loosening up and the pain is improving every day :-) it was an amazing feeling being back cuddled up with my lovely fiancé again :-) :-) :-)
He and my two children are being wonderful. My 6 year old is generally being a lot more helpful than usual and my 2.5 year old is on bizarrely good behaviour! He's accidentally leaned on my tummy a couple of times making me cry out in pain and he's looked horrified and kissed my tummy lots of times saying "Sorry mummy! Sorry mummy!" I've then had to apologise to him for scaring the living day lights out of him with my screams of pain!!
I had a little worry the other day regarding the dressing on my naval as I thought it looked a little bit like there was some exudate from the wound so I took a picture and sent it to the specialist nurse at the clinic and she said if I felt confident to remove the dressing and send her a pic of what's underneath to do so but for me to not touch it or clean it or anything so I did that and sent a pic then covered it with an identical dressing. She reassured me that it looks as it should and that it's healing nicely! I'm going to see her tomorrow anyway for my 6 day post op naval clean and redress so I'll have another peek at it then. I was really happy with how neat it looks though even though it was still a bit bloody looking!
Anyway that's it for now. I'll update again soon :-)
