Eyelid Surgery: Worth it

Cost: $1,700
Pain: Uncomfortable
Eyelid Surgery satisfaction: Excellent5 Star Rating: Excellent
I recommend my Eyelid Surgery provider: Sign in or join to view provider name
Why: The doctor took the time to explain what she would do and showed me many pictures of other patients before and after. Every case is unique, and she pointed out differences (between the pics and what she would do for me).

My eyes lids made me look sad/angry/droopy. I even had a cosmetic lady describe my upper eye as "hoods" and no amount of eye shadow could camouflage it.
When I first looked into having something done, one plastic surgeon told me I needed a brow lift. This procedure is a little bit more involved, and I was hesitant because I didn't want the "surprise" look I've seen in some pictures. I asked how he knew how much to "pull up" and he said it was all experience. That sort of jolted me into researching and finding the experience level of other plastic surgeons. I found the surgeon who made "The Best of" for my city, and went to her. She recommended the blethoplasty instead - saying in her opinion, the brow lift would be over kill. I felt much more relaxed and assured in her office, so I went ahead.
I absolutely love the results. It is not a dramatic change that completely changed my looks, but a subtle change that made me look less angry and more relaxed.
When I look in the mirror I really truly like what I see.

I would definitely recommend this - but advise everyone to get a few opinions. I did not tell the second doc what the first doc had said - I wanted her unbiased opinion.

Glad you are so happy with your results! How long ago did you have this done? How was your recovery? I am scheduled to have mine (uppers and lowers) done in 2 weeks. I'm very excited but nervous. I have seen 4 "top doctors" for my area. Mostly I'm nervous about recovery and going back to work looking freakish.
