I don't think I would have a TT again.  I'm in my 7th week post op and still have a lot of discomfort.  It has been an extremely slow process with much more than I bargained for.  I've had a C-section, hysterectomy and reconstructive surgery but they were all a piece of cake compared to this.

I'm attributing a lot to the fact I'm a senior and not healing as fast as others.  I've read the other reviews and can't believe that some people are as good as new within 7-10 days...they must not have had a FULL tummy tuck.

After my reconstruction that only took excess skin and no tighten muscles, I was great in 7-10 days.  I think there needs to be a definite distinction between a full tummy tuck and just removal of excess skin.  I haven't decided at this point if it is worth it or not.

I also had a breast lift at the same time and have had no problems whatsoever with it.

I am 60 and going to have a tt jan 27. how old are you and what kind of problems are you encountering

I'm also 60. I'm not sure if age has anything to do with it but I think it does. I'm in very good health and stay very active. I'm sure six months from now I'll be happy but the past two months have not necessarily been pleasant. First I think I didn't take enough time off of work for my recovery. I went back full time after 2-1/2 weeks but I sure could have used more. I was just not prepared for the excessive tightness which lasted about 6 weeks and still some now at 8 wks post op but getting better. My other issue is my EXTREME skin sensitivity. I cannot stand anything touching my skin if it is not tight but I have been working on weaning myself from wearing them. I stopped wearing abdominal garments except for camis and wear just control panties. I know the nerves are still healing but it is really, really getting on my nerves and wearing me down. Very tired as my body continues to heal. It is MAJOR surgery. You may do just great and I hope you do. Are you having a full TT or just excision of excess skin?

I am retired so I will have plenty of time to recoop. I am in good physical shape and have a good outlook so I hope that is in my favor. I know the healing is a long time and I have learned a lot from reading this site.

There is a distinction in the terms. Panniculectomy is skin and fat only. This is what I'm thinking of since I have fibromyalgia. I don't want to risk any permanent stitches in the muscle.

I think a panniculectomy would be better. I know you go through enough with your fibromyalgia so I wouldn't want you to risk anymore pain or discomfort.

Good luck and let me know how you make out.

I had my tt 1/27. Best thing I have ever done. No real pain, just uncomfortable. Used a walker 1st week so that took care of some of the back pain. Drank a lot of water & oj & I really think that has helped healing. Swelling is down, scar doing great. The tightness is taking a little getting use to. Would do it again in a heartbeat

Hi Beaches: Now that a couple of years have passed, do you still feel the same way? LeeLee
