49 YO mother of 2, 5'10", 130 lbs, 355CC Sientra textured moderate plus under the muscle

I can't believe 9 months have passed already since my surgery! My story isn't unique - I was never unhappy with my boobs growing up and even after children..... Until one day I just was! I figured since I take such good care of everything else; hair, skin and body, why shouldn't I take equal good care of my boobs? So my decision to get breast augmentation was made without fuss and rather quickly. I researched several plastic surgeons and made appointments with 3 different doctors. However, after meeting my first doctor, Dr. Scott Sattler, I knew I didn't need to look any further. Dr. Sattler and his staff were awesome! Warm and funny, he listened to my needs and concerns. I didn't want to go too big and wanted a more natural look. When I was young I was a 36C, after kids a 34B, and by the time I visited Dr. Sattler I was probably close to an A cup. So trying on the sizers made me laugh out loud, because I wasn't used to big boobs and I thought I looked ridiculous when I tried the larger sizers on. Even 355CC's were a stretch for me, but that's ultimately the size I picked. 9 months later I am one of those few women who could have easily gone smaller. Don't get me wrong, I love my boobs and I think they turned out absolutely beautiful, but when I look at them now I still think they're a bit on the large side!
My procedure itself was pretty typical - no complications, normal discomforts etc. I took the narcotics for 3 days, then replaced it with ibuprofen and Tylenol. I consumed lots of smooth move tea and took stool softeners so I had bowl movements by day 2. I will tell you that the bloat was awful for me. I think it took almost a full month before J was truly back to normal. I also had severe bruising as you will see from my pictures. This worried me a lot, but I could always get a hold of Julie, Dr. sattler's awesome nurse, or Dr. Sattler himself. Once I texted him on a Sunday with my concerns, he asked me to send him some pictures and then promptly responded that everything appeared fine! Have I mentioned yet how much I love everyone at Sound Plastic Surgery?
Every time I had a freak out or concern they were calm and re-assuring. When I asked about straps Julie told me that the best method for relaxing the implants is time and gravity.... lol. I loved their matter of fact view points; I was allowed to start walking the day after my surgery, and after 3 weeks I was allowed to wear underwire bras, I was allowed to run, I was allowed to work out with weights (no push ups and chest exercises yet), and I was allowed to sleep on my side without a bra. The underlying message always was "if it feels good and doesn't hurt" I was giving clearance. I started doing barre3 classes 2 weeks after my surgery and just avoided certain arm exercises. I started running after 3 weeks - which felt awful in my chest at first - like I had two watermelons attached, and it felt SO tight!
Because I am very lean and fit I think it took longer than average for my boobs to drop and soften - the textured implants take longer to drop also - as a result I felt like my boobs had that ridiculous "square" look for quite a while. I think even at 9 months my boobs are continuing to change; get softer and more natural looking. I think by 6 months they finally looked more normal to me.
I'm hoping I remembered most of my story; that's the problem with waiting so long; I can't remember the fine details as well.
Bottom line is I had an amazing experience, I just turned 50 and I'm so glad I decided to do this for myself! I will definitely go back to Dr. Sattler for any future comes tic needs!

Dr. Sattler and his entire staff are truly...

Dr. Sattler and his entire staff are truly amazing! He was my first consult and after meeting Dr. Sattler and Julie (his wonderful nurse), I just knew I didn't need to see anyone else, so I cancelled my 2 other consult appointments. Dr. Sattler is a very caring professional with great bedside manner. His entire team are very welcoming and they made me feel very comfortable right away. Dr. S listened to my needs, is very kind and respectful, and has an easy sense of humor. Everyone in the office is there to help; Julie is always quick to reply to my emails, texts or phone calls. Erin is equally warm and caring. Dr. S answered my texts promptly on a weekend when I had some concerns. I just can't say enough positive things.... except for the most important thing; My breasts are so pretty now!!! A true artist! I would highly recommend Dr. Sattler and his team to anyone!
