I purchased a round of Sculptra (4 visits) for $3,000 to help plump up my sunken cheeks. I have dealt with hollowing in my cheeks my whole life, whether I was overweight or underweight it didn’t make a difference. Surgery or products like Sculptra were the only options.
Sculptra takes time to work but I saw results after the first injection. Then these began to fade just in time for the second injection, and again I plumped up. I also developed a lump in my right cheek at this time but the doctor wasn’t too concerned. I was a bit more worried because I had read about severe lumps from Sculptra. However, my doctor was confident I wouldn’t be one of these patients.
I have now had all four visits and can see an obvious difference in the way my cheeks look. They are noticeably plumper and filled out nicely, but not in an extreme way. The one lump remains but it is very hard to see and can really only be felt. I know it’s there but nobody else does.
This was something I did to avoid an invasive surgery and I would say I’ve gotten the results I was looking for. I know the plumping will fade and I’ll have to fork over another $3,000 but this is my preference over getting implants or some other, more permanent, method.
I would recommend Sculptra but I would also recommend keeping a close eye on lumps. If they start to develop, question your doctor! Some people have had very bad injuries from Sculptra.
