Tummy Tuck: Stories

Ok well im a mother of 3, & it seems like after my one year old I just couldn't get rid of that extra fat anymore! I originally thought about getting it done around the summer but once I started looking into it I decided I couldn't go much longer looking & feeling like this. So here I am :) im scheduled for march8th at 1 pm, & I am just now getting a lil scared & anxious! My hubby is being pretty suportive (at 1st he was not so for it) . I haven't bought anything to prepare yet except the meds...maybe ill get to the rest this weekend :)

So I went shopping for arnica gel, bio oil, pads, gauze, and all the other essentials :)

Ok maybe I should give a little more info. Before I decided on my doctor I saw one other. He had about 5 before and after pics, even though he said he performed thousands of procedures, and the pics did not look great, then I saw on here one of his patients and it really scared me!!! The doctor I am going with has at least 200 before and after pics and the results look awesome. After meeting with him the first time, I booked! I felt confident that even though I was paying more than i would with other surgeons I would be going to someone who would give me the body I wanted to have. I am having a tummy tuck, MR, lipo of the abs, flanks, bra roll, and hips, I am also having a bulging hernia fixed :) I will have a pain pump (though I still dont know for how long). The docs assistant always tells me that I am going to love my results because the doctor has so much experience and he does such great work. She has also told me that the pain pump will allow me start moving sooner and which will help with my healing time. She has recommended I get lymphatic massages afterwards, and told me many women have had a quicker recovery, so I do plan on doing a few. Three days before surgery I am to start bathing with hibiclens, which will help to cleanse my skin and avoid infection. After surgery my hubby will have to inject me with some meds to help avoid blood clots. He seems to be extra careful which relieves me some, better safe than sorry! Ok I cant think of anything else at this time but I will be posting as stuff comes into mind, and since my tt is ALWAYS on my mind, I am sure I will have a few more entries ;) BTW I am a full time student and will only be taking 10 days off which I hope is enough. The good thing is I am only in school about 4 hrs a day...

I woke up yesterday having second thoughts...I was asking myself if I should really spend all thid money on myself, then I thought "how vain of me"... I got up to use the bathroom & looked in the mirror & was back tbeng excited about doing it ;)
I bought my snacks & meals. I washed & cleaned out the fridge, totally nesting right now!

Tomorrow is my big day, I can't wait to b rid of this gross stomach!!!

Todays the day, I have to go turn myself in in an hour and half ;) Meanwhile I'm getting dinner ready, I'm soooo starving lets get this done so I can eat! Ive been setting up my meds, water and snacks along with that i have my new bed, aka recliner ready to go.I hope I didn't forget anything. .. c u on the other side!!!!

1 day p.o. feeling very sleepy and groggy.I got home around 630 pm last night and I am sleep a couple of hours at a time/ I haven't been in too much pain just feel like i got hit by a bus! I am sore and tender from everywhere! I am also taking my meds religiously I do have an appetite and I'm eating just fine. I have a binder on and i cant see anything yet but good news is i feel my incision really low I guess I just have to wait and see tomorrow when I can shower :)

P.o. day two already feeling sick & tured of this! My stomach and the right side of my chest hurt. My drain is leaking & its hard to take deep breaths.

Today I'm 6 days post op & I feel like crap! I am still in pain, its tolerable but annoying! I'm still hunched over, & can't do much of the old stuff I used to do :( I'm supposed to go back to school tuesday & I don't feel up to it. I can't wait gor the pain to subside & to b back to handling business :/

Ok so i had decided to stop all my meds today and see if i could make it through the day. As i was helping everyone get ready for school and the sitters this morning i started to get a little tickle in my throat and next thing i know im fighting the urge to cough, I scared the crap out of my girls who stared at me while i tried to cough lightly (yes, thought it was possible) I was wheezing and coughing and it all ended in a sneeze! Needless to say i was in major pain so i ended up taking some percocet. After everyone left i had to clean out my drain hole(my drain was taken out yesterday), and my belly button which is looking really cute! I then started to feel a little better. I began to think that its all in my head and that I can make the difference on how I feel. So i straighten my back a little more and i looked at my new silhouette and I realized that Im coming along just fine, the more I tell myself that its all worth it and that it isnt so bad the better I began to feel. So Im looking at things a little different now I hope this can carry me through the next couple of weeks until I can start walking around the house in the skimpy clothes I have had put away for so long. Today is post op day 8 and i was able to shower standing up the whole time! Its getting better im walking straighter, but i feel like my 2 sides are so uneven!!!!

Today is my second day back at school & I'm soooooo super swollen, my skin hurts :( I look pretty similar to pre op today so I'm not too happy. I have so much going on w final papers coming up that my stresslevel is through the roof, that can't b helpful :/ I hope it goes away some, I think I need some arnicagel now, it always seems to help.

Today marks 4 weeks, I walk straight, my waist is getting smaller & though I still swell I fit most of my preop pants without the love handles :) its hard to believe how badly I felt before & how I feel so much more normal. I can't wait til I don't have to wear compression garments!

I am 7 weeks post op & I am pretty happy with my results although the swelling is discouraging. Looking at my pictures I see the difference and I'm happy! I've been walking 5 miles a week since week 5 & I've started to work a little more now. My weight fluctuates quite a bit but I know once I start running again I will be able to drop & hopefully reach my goal of 135, I'm between 141-146 now.
