Seeing Some Real Improvement from Photofacial!

Worth It
Spent: $50 in Scottsdale, AZ

Posted 5 Aug 2010

Had a photo facial on Monday, August 2nd and am already loving the results. The pain was minimal but I have to admit - I cheated and used some numbing cream I had left from a prior cosmetic procedure. Felt like a little rubber band snapping then a slight burn for a second or two after each pulse.

First day I looked a little pink like I'd gotten a bit of sun. First night, skin felt tight and a little itchy. Next day any trace of a blemish or red dot on my face was healing and fading. On the third day now and skin is noticeably improved. More even tone - blemishes fading or totally disappearing. I will definitely do more - they recommend 4 to 6 treatments per area to get a "stunning" result. I think its worth noting that there are different settings to target different problems with this procedure. For instance, they set the laser (technically intense pulsed light) at a different setting to target brown (freckles, age spots, sun damage) than they set it for red (general facial ruddiness, acne scars, red capillaries). I had mine set for redness as I'm fair and have a lot of ruddiness, some past acne red marks and some small red capillaries around my nose.

Bottom line: worth it and will do it again. Can't wait to see the results after 2 or 3 more redness treatments then a couple brown spots treatments. Maybe I'll have that skin from when I was 17 yet. :)

My Doctor: National Laser Institute, Scottsdale

This is a teaching facility and one of the top laser training facilities in the world. They offer ridiculously cheap procedures in a teaching environment supervised by experienced laser techs and/or doctors. I paid $50 for a photo facial that costs $500+ in other spas/clinics/dr offices in Scottsdale. Enough said. :)
