It took me many years to decide to do anything...

It took me many years to decide to do anything this drastically, finally I had decided to go for it due to serious health issues that were starting to arise. Needless to say, started the process with my insurance and meet w/ my surgeon Dr. Richard T. Nguyen in San Jose, CA back in July, (end of July) and started all my "go see's" for workup / approval in August of 2014 and then in October of 2014 I had my surgery!
It was really brutal, I had to start my liquids for (2) whole weeks before my surgery date. I was constantly hungry and I felt really sick and I was totally starving! I became really weak with little to no energy and I had still had to go to work! I did cheat like twice while I was on the liquids, I couldn't help it, I got really sick! However, I still made it through and had a total of 12 lb weight loss during this phase so Dr. Nguyen did my surgery on Wednesday and boy did I feel like I got hit by a "MACK" truck!
Thankfully, I had my morphine drip in my hands and I can't thank Dr. Nguyen enough! I'm now two weeks post op, I had my 1st appt w/ Dr. Nguyen on Monday and I've already lost a total of 20lbs so far! He's really please with my healing process, I feel like a brand new person, I can see and feel the weight loss in my close, my face, my upper abdomen and I don't have the "FAT GIRL" underwear rolling down on me!!! I don't feel awful anymore and now I'm at the baby food stage of eating, but I have to be honest, I had a piece of bacon today and it tasted wonderful!!! I only ate it because, call me crazy, but I had this strange inclination that I could handle the piece of bacon so I ate it! It went down fine and yes, I took me forever to eat it, but it went down well! I was told that i could eat a scrambled egg, cream of wheat (watery) & I can make soup and blend it up together and eat my veggies that way. I have experimented with other foods, but I know my limit and I eat everything in really small portions, I can't eat much, but I do eat somethings. Otherwise, I'm still eating like in the beginning (pre-op) and it sucks! However, I do love the weight loss, feel great, but I'm still tired a lot, but that's because my body is still healing. What I absolutely can't stand, it's the air I still get, I wish I didn't have this problem anymore. No matter what i eat or drink, I still have air stuck in my chest and it's hard to pass unless I eat two chewable tablets of Gasx, I told my doctor and that's ok by the way for those who still have that issue. Contact me if there is anyone out there with better suggestions on anything I wrote or if you just have questions! Best decision I've ever made! :)

Dr. Nguyen is the best!!! Great bedside manner, very informative, positive attitude and great personality! You can't go wrong with him, just don't cross him, do everything he tells you & he'll be great, it's because he really cares about his patients and truly believes in what he does for us! I'd recommend him to anyone w/ a PPO insurance living in my area.
