I originally came in for lip suction of the face and buccal fat removal, but Dr. Ransom took the time to explain some less invasive options that would give me the same, or even better, results. He told me about a new device he was getting called ThermiTight (also know by ThermiSmooth ). I really liked this option because it was much cheaper and less invasive that normal liposuction where you have to go under anesthesia. I decided to go with this option.
Before I did the ThermiTight, I had my Buccal fat removed. This was an easy, in office procedure that only required local anesthetic. The procedure went very well, especially because my Buccal fat did not just come out like a ball as you see in the you tube videos. My Buccal fat was more like a sheet and needed to be clipped away in small pieces, which is much more time consuming and it is supposed to be more irritating. Dr. Ransom handled this like the pro that he is. The procedure did not take any longer than the scheduled appointment and he got out as much as possible (without making my look too overdone). The follow up visits were also wonderful because he would inject me with a cortisone solution that makes the scars diminish. After two follows at about a month apart, I cannot see or feel where the incisions were made.
After about a month, I was ready to do the ThermiTight. This is also done under local anesthetic and I did not feel a thing. I think I even feel asleep during the procedure. Basically all he needed were two incisions behind the ear and one under my chin. Then he uses a cannula type device to reach under the skin. This device uses Radio Frequency that specifically heats up and destroys fat cells and you body naturally gets rid of the released fatty oils. The RF also does wonders for tightening the skin (liposuction does not do this). After the surgery I felt great with no lingering pain. I wore a head and under-chin band for about 10 days to keep everything in place. I had really good results from the ThermiTight and I am so glad that I did not go through with liposuction.
Since the ThermiTight gives you the best results over time, I have had 2 follow up appointments and everything is as expected. I can also see the difference after the initial treatment, at the 1 month mark and at the 4 month mark. My results will continue to get better up to the 1 year point!

I knew Dr. Ransom because I had previously needed my deviated septum fixed as well as some other things in my nose that we keeping me from breathing well, especially during the night. There were plenty of ENT doctors around, but I wanted someone who would not mess up the look of my nose. I finally found Dr. Ransom and had the procedure done with amazing results! I really liked him, not just as a Doctor, but also as a person. He is very personable and funny,which made me immediately feel like I was with an old friend, which made me extremely comfortable. During the buccal fat removal and ThermiTight procedures he was, again, very friendly, funny and confident without being arrogant. He was the only plastic surgeon that took the time to really give me the best options for my situation without giving me suggestions like implants or anything over the top. His staff is also wonderful and friendly and go out of the way to make you feel comfortable and welcome. They answered all my questions quickly and correctly without giving me some BS answer to make me go away. They always remember me when I come in too. I have been to many plastic surgeons before and I can safely say that I will not go to anyone else.
