It's been almost a year since I had my revision...
It's been a year since my revision rhinoplasty with Dr. Kim and so far, so good.
Dr. Kim is a great surgeon. During every consultation with him he was extremely professional, knowledgable, pleasant, and happy to answer any questions. He fully explained what he could and, more importantly, could not do so there were no false expectations. I never felt pressured or like he was trying to sell something (as a lot of cosmetic surgeons try to do). After every consult I felt at ease about the procedure and after every post-op check-up I felt confident that I had chosen the right surgeon. Dr. Kim had a lot of work to do to correct the previous rhinoplasty I had done by another surgeon and I'm really that happy that he took the challenge.
The revision rhinoplasty by Dr. Kim corrected both unfinished and careless work by a former surgeon. Dr. Kim was able to narrow my still-too-broad tip and remove an ill-placed graft that caused it to project too much, giving me a more natural tip. He also lessened the severity of an indent in the bridge of my nose--improving structural support and aesthetics--and was able to make the "webbed" nostril, caused by the former surgeon, less obvious. Additionally, he was able to successfully remove a large amount of scar tissue from my nose that had formed over the years, even given the extreme difficulty of working with skin that was now less elastic due to large amounts of scarring. Dr. Kim was very clear from the beginning that my result would not be perfect given all the complex issues he had to contend with from my prior surgery, but, after years of devastating emotional and mental anguish that my first rhinoplasty caused me during my early- and mid-twenties, all-in-all, I feel my nose looks a lot better now than before his revision. I honestly believe I chose the right surgeon who was able to show restraint when needed in order to avoid causing more damage, and who was able to use his expertise in revision rhinoplasty to craft a more natural result.
Also, Dr. Kim's staff is amazing. They are all extremely nice, professional, and responsive. During every phase--from consults, to pre-op, to post-op--all the staff quickly responded to emails, returned calls, and were all around pleasant. They work with you every step of the way and make you feel at ease. :)
