New Meaning to 'Yoga Folds'

I got to go to my first yoga class this past weekend. I took a Yin class - which was a nice way to ease back into things - mostly stretching and such. When I really settled in to my forward fold and seated forward fold, I was so happy to notice that it was no longer my belly that got it my way - it was my boobs. Ha ha ha. Helped me to find my Zen really fast!

Stay flat my friends.

Not measured in pounds or dress size

It's been awhile since I've posted an update and I was really curious to create a before and after montage for my own excitement. Yay. I'm still excited with my results.

I have dropped 8-10 pounds since the day before surgery. I never did ask my surgeon how much she took out, so I don't know what's from what. But I don't care how it's gone - it's gone. My dress size hasn't changed, but my confidence is up about 2,000% and that's way better than a dress size or two.

I still have swelling and don't have to wear my binder anymore but I do continue to rock a medium layer of spanx - it just feels better.

All in all, I couldn't be luckier to have afforded the surgery and the time to recover.

Dr. Chung is an outstanding surgeon and a caring professional. My experience from start to finish was comfortable, informed and I knew I was in the best possible hands. I interviewed three other surgeons and none of them even examined my abdomen to determine how much muscle separation we were looking at. I'm sure that they would have figured it out eventually, but Dr. Chung took the three minutes to assess it at our first meeting and that simple action allowed me to make an informed decision between the outcomes of a tummy tuck vs. liposuction. Without something that simple, I might have made a different decision and ended up with less than satisfactory results. Both before and after my surgery, Dr. Chung was infinitely available. My surgery was on a Friday, which means that she had to come in to the office on a Saturday for my first (of many) follow-ups. She also offered to come in on a holiday weekend to check on one of my drains. All of my follow-ups were thorough, comfortable and I believe that Dr. Chung went above and beyond in the time that she spent with me. Even when I arrived early, I never waited more than five minutes to see the doctor. As for the end product, I know I made the right decision in both my surgeon and the procedure I selected. I had abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) with muscle repair and limited liposuction. I haven't dropped more than about 1/2 a size, but my clothes fit remarkably better and I have a much higher level of self-confidence. Whitney, the office manager, is stellar, too. She always knew exactly who I was when I called, was incredibly adept at organizing a surgery schedule that worked for me (and given my schedule, that was no easy task.) She has a sincere interest in making sure you feel comfortable and get everything you need at every visit (and before and after, too.) From my experience, you can't go wrong with Dr. Chung.
