I have scheduled my Mommy Makeover

Wow! I am really, really nervous and excited. I have just scheduled my Mommy Makeover for June 17th. I will be having a tummy tuck as well as a breast lift with augmentation (saline). I am excited to finally be able to have all of this extra skin leave my body and for my boobs to finally look happy instead of so sad. LOL

So here goes nothing...I am 44 years old and 5' 5" and about 185. No matter what I do, I always seem to stay at this same weight. Yes, if I just ate salad all day, I would lose more weight. Eating salad all day is just not realistic. I have always been active. Either I have run regularly or gone to the gym to lift, etc. Still, when I have been at my most fit in my 20's - even with 17% body fat, I was still about 156 to 160. I have discovered crossfit which I totally love and have seen make some awesome changes to my body. Unfortunately, diet and exercise to do not take away the extra skin created from changes in the body either from normal weight gain or pregnancy weight.

I have wanted to do this surgery for a looong time. Now that I am in my 40's and see that no amount of exercise is going to pull my skin taught, I want to have this done so that my body matches how I feel about myself. I am still processing the fact that this is MAJOR surgery. I know I want to have this done but I am also cognizant of the fact that it is an elective surgery and I would hate to have something happen to me over this when I have two little guys to be a mom to. A lot of this extra skin is from having my babies and I am a little sad that it will be gone.

Although I will have my hubby and my family around to help me, I still am worried about the recovery process. I have two active kiddos and I am just concerned about the down time. Also, I am just not sure what to tell my oldest. I do not want to share that I am having this surgery to anyone outside of my immediate family (and, of course, outside of Realself! ha ha). My oldest is old enough to ask why I am having surgery and old enough to recount whatever I tell him. Anyone have any suggestions???

I love this site and have been reading the reviews for so long now. I love that everyone can come together to share and support each other. I am looking forward to your support. :)

Wondering how long it takes to get back to exercising..

I know that I will be limited to what I can do after a lift and augmentation. I started Crossfit recently and am worried that I will not be able to continue this program after my surgery. I will be getting saline implants and just worried about what it would take to rupture or push the implant out from exertion.....

You ladies are amazing!

I have had several replies to my comment and I am so happy that folks have taken the time to answer. What truly makes me surprised is that I have only heard from ladies who have used Dr. Pousti! No one else has referred me to a different doctor! I guess I will be having to make a call to his office. I still welcome hearing about your experiences. It is making me feel braver every day!
