It has been about 5 years that I decided I wanted...
It has been about 5 years that I decided I wanted a facelift. I am 60 years old and have spent my whole life basking in the sun. The sun damage and wrinkles on my face were bothering me so much that I avoided looking at myself in the mirror.
I live in Italy and every time I would come to the states, I would make appointments and talk to a few plastic surgeons. I never found one that I trusted and that satisfied my needs.until last year. A friend of mine who is an esthetician recommended Dr. Edelson to me. Both my friend and a friend of hers had eyelid lifts from Dr. Edelson and the results were so natural that I decided to see him. On my appointment, I first met with Kristina. She was so sweet and informative, answering all my questions. What was so great was that she had a facelift a few years back from Dr. Edelson, so I could see right then what kind of work he did. She looked fantastic and so natural! Then I met with Dr. Edelson and had a million questions to ask him. He took his time to answer all of them. I have to say that one of my pet-peeves are aggressive, pushy doctors who try and sell you all that they can. Dr. Edelson was just the opposite. He discouraged me against a few procedures (fat transfer on my cheeks and skin laser) saying that it wasn't necessary and I would be wasting my money. That is almost unheard of these days! He said that the facelift and eyelid surgery would do the job. And he was right! And his price was cheaper than the other doctors I had seen. He explained the details of the procedure and the protocol the night before and after surgery. We talked about what medication to use during the operation. I opted for meds that make you sleep instead of anesthesia. I also got a call from the Anesthesiologist the night before surgery and we talked about my concerns for at least a half an hour. That really helped me feel more secure and I slept fairly well that night.
The next morning before surgery Dr. Edelson was very comforting and the staff was very professional. Everything went very smoothly. I didn't have any pain during surgery and only took one pain killer the first night. Dr.Edelson even called that night to see how I was doing. The next morning I went back to the office and was checked and had my bandages changed. After 6 days I was feeling my old self. I had little bruising and hardly any swelling ( taking Arnica helps). After 2 weeks I looked great and even flew back home. I was so amazed how fast I healed with hardly any pain. It has been a year now since I had my facelift. My Mom and my husband say i look at least 10 years younger. Everyone who doesn't know, think I look so good cuss I lost weight and grew my hair long. That's because I look so natural.
I have to say that getting a facelift and choosing Dr. Edelson to perform it were 2 of the best decisions I have ever made. Thanks for reading this.I hope it helped
