I'm a 65 year old who has bee living with saline implants for 30 years. I've been unhappy with them for years but kept them in for ALL the wrong reasons. When I would discuss to any Doctor that I would see -I would get the same answer "If they are not bothering you, just leave them alone" - in other words if it ain't broken.....Four years ago I seriously was considering having them removed but was discouraged by the expense! I found this blog and I realize that I am not alone and am encouraged to look into having the explant. I have made an appointment to see a Plastic Surgeon to discuss this procedure. I'll check back and give an update. If anyone has a name of a PS in San Diego, Ca. that they would highly recommend - I would appreciate the name. My appointment is on the 27th of June. Thanks......

Chellbean, I did not keep my appointment with Dr. Pousti but had my implants removed on Aug. 2nd by another PS.

Thanks for starting your story on RealSelf. I'm glad you found us and don't feel alone anymore. We definitely have an awesome community of like minded women here! I know another woman in this community went to Dr. Pousti for her removal and had a good experience. Hope this helps.
