I've been considering liposuction for years. I...

I've been considering liposuction for years. I actually had lipo done on my abs in 2011. However, the results were disappointing to say the least. There were no visible improvements at all which have made me very skeptical of the entire process including the possibility of losing more of my hard earned money. I read many reviews and chose Dr. Gary Lawton. I've been small boned and thin most of my life. My middle section just doesn't make sense withe the rest of my body nor the youthful age in my mind. I am post meneposal 5 years and my body shape now compares to Sponge Bob Square Pants. Now: I visited with Dr. Lawton end of February 2015. In his estimation, my abs did not even appear to have gone through lipo. WOW! Somehow during the interview (me interviewing him) I felt a connection and trust develop. I just knew that he was "the one". I came out of the interview somehow knowing that he would stop nothing short of providing me with the best results possible. I went in thinking I needed a tummy tuck, but he felt liposuction to my upper/ lower abs, bra roll , love handles and inner thighs was necessary. The next surgical appointment available was a month away but luckily another patient had to postpone and there was an opening 6 days later. I took the plunge because I believed. I am know 2 1/2 weeks post surgery. Still going through some pain, discomfort, swelling, numbness , loss of appetite, emotional swings, some fog, very little nausea, headache and major fatigue. The good news: I can already see some positive results.. I see no more of all that fat across my upper abs so that my breasts are more prominent. There is waist definition. My inner thighs are smooth without touching each other. I see my body more proportional to my thin arms and thin legs. I even tried on a couple of new clothes I purchased 2 sizes down and they fit! All I really wanted was to look great in my clothes again. Seems like that will happen. The big question is: how smooth will the final result be? Dr. Lawton did say the dimpling that was already there from the first bad lipo would not go away, so I am anxious to see the final result and hopefully there will at least be an improvement. I go back on 4/1 to get an exercise and eating plan.

Patient education is the most important part of any consultation. Once you know the risks, benefits and limitations of the procedures then we can discuss your goals and apply the rules to the anatomy to arrive at a plan. If you don't start with education then you don't get to be part of the decisions. Since it is your body it is critical you are involved in the decisions!!

As stated in some of the reviews, Dr. Lawton is a man of very few words. He lets his actions and results speak for themselves. You don't get a warm and fuzzy feeling from him at first. His mind is occupied with the data, details and assessment. His passion for being the best is his inner drive. His bedside manner finally came out after he hugged me at the end of our last consult a few days ago. He and his entire staff care about the the individual. If he should tell you that he 'can make you skinny', I think you can believe him. My hope and belief is in him. Will post again in a few weeks.
