Issue/Concern and No Return Calls

Nearly 4 yrs post op... I am prompted to REreview my experience due to a lack of concern or regard by staff and Dr for my explicable recent development. I FEEL my right implant. Like the pocket it was in has shifted. It is unnerving. I left a message with the answering service after 5 days of the initial sensation for a call back. NO call back. I called again and was seen. Office staff has changed and was not as welcoming or professional as a few years ago. Dr did a quick exam and really didn’t have much. No thoughts on what it could be, how it could have happened, what to do about it. Suggested I get a mammogram... until they tried to schedule it and my insurance wouldn’t cover the mammo as I had one done in February. Then his suggestion was to wait and see for 3 or 4 weeks as it was likely nothing to be concerned about (?!) but to call back if the condition changed. IT HAS. It has now progressed so that I literally feel as though in some movements I need to push it back into place. I have now left 3 messages for return calls with office staff to get scheduled for a mammo as it’s worsened... AND NO CALL BACK. Initially I was pleased enough with his work. Implants were great size wise and placement... and hoped to regain nipple in either, 3+ years in have given up. They are gone. No lift. Just implant. Sensation doesn’t register. My body thinks they work, they still harden,  body still responds, but I can’t FEEL them anymore. Either of them. At all. One of the risks I guess but such a trade off :( Had lipo done then too and have a lumpy inner left thigh. I just overlook it but given the recent lack of service I felt it is time to review appropriately that am sorely disappointed in my results and experience. At this point I guess I’ll contact a mammo service on my own and also evaluate it myself just as I did my own diagnosis of what may be happening since I can’t get a return call or consideration of the problem. If my concerns are addressed I will update my review ... and keep records of my attempts.

4 months

Sensation update and Bras found! :)

1 year 1 month in:
I had general patchy numbness that seems to work from my chest towards my nipples around month 6+. If i didn't wear a supportive enough bra, my breasts would ache. The lace bra below is a prime example. Lovely as it is, it was my only pretty one and after several days i ached and went back to my functional ones. For about the first 9 months i also had to sleep in a tankini (picture below) that separated them to sleep comfortably, reduce aching, and was just really hot in the cleavage. Started to have skin reactions due to the constant heat in my cleavage and on my back from the bras/tanks. I can sleep without them, use baby powder, use a body scrub and washcloth to keep my skin fresh, and use Tinactin if it got out of hand. Real world problems... :p....

To this day (1 yr and 1 month), i still do not have erotic sensation in my nipples. I do have some ache when I manage them roughly so not numb and I physically respond as though i am aroused (nipple erection etc) but my mind doesn't read it as sensual. I see this a potential consequence and my body's reaction/healing process and am hopeful it will come back.

I have had to strengthen and stretch my upper back/shoulders to keep a better posture. They look more natural than fake. I dress conservatively so don't believe I am seen as "implants- yep!" Dr. Decherd did great work. They don't feel like an accessory anymore and am less self conscious about them. I would select this size again otherwise it would have been a minimal difference and not worth it. Again, Dr. Decherd was amazing and am so glad I trusted him w/ his vision for my implant size and after vision.

I finally found bras!!! That and my nipples was the most disappointing aspect of this. Victoria's Secret, Fredericks... all minimal (none) selection for 38DDD and Sona had nothing that made me feel sexy. A gal at VS told me to try Lane Bryant... OMG... WHAT A FIND!!!! I went absolutely crazy, amazing selection, gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous, and reasonable with BOGO and coupons. Proud owner of 18--- ( blush ) new bras in a matter of 2 weeks :)

Still very happy with the lipo too. Still some shading on my outer thighs (noticeable to me but likely not anyone else) and a slight crease still on my inner thigh but overall... Would do it again too. Seems like I just can't shake the weight i gained but now hovering about 15 lbs heavier instead of the 20lbs than I was last year. My weight now is definitely in my lower belly/waist but is in a pretty contained area given the boobs and new legs. I am still working out a lot and hope to get rid of it this year. Could be my age that isn't working with me. Won't resort to lipo in my abdomen now (although now have enough fat to do it :/.. .the irony.... lol) and just keep working on it.

He, his facility, and staff were all great! Very friendly, I was always seen promptly, if I called with a question it was quickly answered. they let me try on different sizes. What also really helped in my decision making was the imaging system he has on site. Given the risk, expense, long term commitment to the whole process, I was having difficulty visualizing the breast aug and it was so hard to make a choice that way. His imaging system helped me get comfortable with the potential outcome and selecting the size to fit my frame. It was priceless to me. It was also pretty darn close ;)
