great tummy

should have sent before and after by now, sorry. I am doing great...it was a bumpy road and hurt a lot and the recovery seemed to take forever but boy was it worth it. my tummy is ridiculous now! I had so much skin i probably could have done the flur de le cut but the dr weighed the pros verses the scars and decided not to and i am really happy with my results...the lines of the scars are straight and even where i opened up the scars are not bad. I would tell anyone to do this after major weight loss. I think my tummy would stick out because of gall bladder surgery i needed. Havent had the problem bad since gall bladder surgery. Which by the way put scars across my perfect new tummy....oh well you win some and loose some.

lkong road

well i am two and a half months into this and it has been harder than i ever thought but i still love my tummy! I have had other complications with my health to make things much worse but I will break it down for you. I still have two open wound areas on my back side, they are finally healing really well and no longer kicking out stitches (13)...I dont know how people handle this without someone with a strong stomach to help them. My daughter has been digging around in my butt with a flashlight and tweezers , taking out dead skin and stitches and packing the wounds. Right when Dr. Peterson released me for exercise..all but abs I ended up in hospital with a bowel obstruction and a obstruction in my bile duct so I was very sick. Then I got home and was told to try to stick to a no fat diet but needing protein to heal...omg it was and is no walk in the park. So now I am working out again ...three times or four times a week but now only for 1 1/2 to 2 hours...so my stamina sucks and i am getting so sore every time...but I must keep trying because I want to keep the weight off and the tummy flat. I will send before and after pics soon. I am having one problem, my upper tummy sticks out sometimes like i am pregnant and the pressure hurts...even the dr seems perplexed so we will soon find out if it is from my other problems.

six weeks update

i still have two areas on my back with open sores... one has four holes right around the crack area the dr said was very common...not what he wanted but common that were kicking out stitches and releasing a lot of liquid 24/7 that the dr said was like a controlled infection.. my body was not dissolving all the stitches so it was creating sores to kick some of them out..the weakest area is normally around the butt crack where the scars come together and is weakest because you put strain there when ever you do anything like sit, bend or lie down...I got four holes that were all connected behind the skin in a four inch wide by two inch deep hole and i got so far 12 stitches out of this area...several were small stitches that would disintegrate if touched in my hand and three so far where huge and needed to be cut out and did not dissolve at all...the dr. told me these were stitches that would dissolve in 4-6 months ...but if i saw them they needed to be removed to help clear the infection... So my daughter has been looking in these two inch holes with a flash light and keeping the area clean and clear..the dr said this could last 2-4 months. Besides this the dr. said i could start working out except my abs as much as I wanted....I have to have the dressings on my butt replaced two times a day or i stink and I could get my clothes wet witch is embarrassing...so my energy is within my grasps and I am feeling finally like i want to try my normal routine..and finally lay off the pain meds

the office is very nice and you never have to wait to be seen, the staff..well so far they have been excellent...i am nervous if they are still excellent when i dont feel good. The Dr. has been so patient with me and tries to explain everything and not rush me. I am scared to death over reading about things that could go wrong afterwards and they have been kind. Now that i have had the surgery, the only complaint is that he did not handle my pain level well. Took me off pain meds after 10 days and i honestly needed them for a month for extensive pain and resorted to using my back pain meds because i was suffering so much. Before surgery he said he would take care of all my pain even if i didnt respond well to the meds and after surgery he did not do what i thought he should for my pain level at all.
