Has it really been a month?

I had my one month follow up this morning. My ps said I could get rid of the binder and switch to spanx (yay!!!). He took the mesh tape off my incision...which would have eventually come off on its own. He also helped the dissolvable stitches in my my belly button along by snipping them out. I'm supposed to wear medical tape on the incision and switch it out every day. I'm cleared for intimate relations...which we'd already tested out about a week ago.

I'm feeling good. My energy level is back up although probably not 100%. I'm back to almost all activities. I'm still limiting picking up my 2yr old. I'm walking but not back to running yet but I'm sure a slow jog is probably fine. I'm standing completely straight. I can do a full cat-stretch in the morning :) There is definitely still tightness and numbness around the incision. He said that will feel a little worse at 10-12 weeks, but will begin to permanently loosen up and go away after that.

Best of all, I am so, so very happy with how it all looks!! I am so impressed by the precision and talent of my doctor. I thanked him over and over again this morning. I wasn't sure exactly what to expect after surgery, but was just hoping I'd be happy. My results have far exceeded my expectations. I'm really looking forward to days at the beach, on the boat and at the pool this summer. Ladies, if you're considering a tummy tuck, carefully choose a doctor you're 100% comfortable with and go for it. I'm so happy I went through with it!

*The pics from today were taken before my appt. this morning, so my bb looks even better now and the incision now has medical tape over it.

Finally tried on a bikini and beyond happy with what I see!

I know I'm so slow to post pictures.... But honestly I haven't wanted to even look at my tummy tuck until I knew it would look somewhat normal. I swear..it was 10 dpo the first time I actually made a point to look at it! So here I am three weeks after surgery and I am absolutely loving what I see!!
There's still tightness, soreness and I guess what you would call burning around the incision, especially at the ends. Still a decent amount of swelling, which I judge by the side view. I'm pretty much walking completely straight throughout the day until the evening time when I start swelling some more and then I hunch a little.
The drain sights stopped draining/ bleeding one week after the drains were removed. So they healed over at 13dpo.
I'm not sure why the incision is so dark, but my guess is that it's scabbing under the mesh, and I trust that with time it will look much better. I had a c-section scar with a big flabby overhang of skin before, so I'm not bothered at all by this scar.

Christmas party at 17dpo

Everything is getting a little bit better every day. We went to a Christmas party last night. All along, I wasn't sure if I'd be ready to go to a party this soon. Nobody at the party knew about my surgery and I'm not standing ramrod straight yet, so I was nervous that my posture would be noticeable. I'm pretty close though. We ended up staying until 11pm for a total of 4.5 hours...with not much sitting. I was so happy we went but we should have left by 10 pm. By 10 I was over it. Just completely exhausted. My incision has been a little more sore the past few days and I think that's because the numbness is slowly going away. Today we had a kids birthday party. I picked up my 2 yr old daughter a couple of times out of necessity. Pics to come...from the front my waist looks so much smaller, but from the side the swelling is very noticeable.
