I was referred to Dr. Thompson by another physician, and I thank God that I was because he is truly the best. He's an artist by nature, and with this in mind he is not like the other surgeons you may meet. He's a perfectionist and takes more time to do a surgery than his peers might (which is something you want in a good surgeon). I was told to expect him to be a bit out of the ordinary, but I can honestly say that I felt completely comfortable with him. I highly recommend that EVERYONE go to see him before choosing their surgeon. His work is impeccable and his rates are very good. And his staff are the best!
The surgery itself lasted about 4 hours for me. This doctor takes more time than others might because he's a perfectionist (which is what you want in a surgeon). Recovery to a point where I could go back to work fully took me 2 weeks, but I was able to work from home after one week. The pain wasn't much different for me than my 2 c-sections, and I didn't need pain medication. The only really uncomfortable part was not being able to walk upright for about 10 days because my abdominal skin was so tight. And the drains are not fun - but don't take them out early because they are what will keep you from swelling up.
Overall I would highly recommend this procedure to anyone wanting a flat tummy and I'd highly recommend Dr. Thompson.
Still a little numb near the scar but getting more...

My Doctor: Troy D. Thompson, MD
My rating:
I was referred to this doctor by another specialist. And when I got to the hospital for the pre-op appointment all of the nurses told me that Dr. Thompson is the only doctor they'd use for this type of surgery. He's awesome!
