My Doctor: Joshua L. Fox, MD

My rating:

I decided to have a consult with Dr. F at Advanced Dermatology for the Ulthera the non-surgical facelift and the Zeltiq non-surgical fat-reduction. I had seen the Ulthera on the Dr. Oz show, and I had read extensively about the Zeltiq procedure. Both procedures interested me immensely, so I went for a consult with Dr. F. Dr. F was so wonderful and answered all of my questions, (not to mention that the fee that he quoted was less than some high-end surgeons that I had recently met with, who's fees were higher). Imagine that, the same procedures, with an honest, reputable dermatologist, who truly cares about his patients. The procedures were a little uncomfortable I must say, although short-lived, but Dr. Fox was by my side every step of the way. He reassured me that my discomfort was normal. The results that I am already seeing are astounding, and I can't wait to see the final results. I know for sure that I WILL be referring all of my friends to Dr. Fox.

Hi Jade,

Thanks for the review, but before I add you to the Ulthera community page could you please provide a bit more information about your experience to fully aid our community.

Did you experience pain and downtime, do you have a few more details about the overall procedure? What made you decide to go through with this procedure, how long had you been thinking about it?

Thanks so much,

-Britt

Hi Britt,

I will say that there was some discomfort during the procedure, but it was worth it as there is no "recovery period" per se.

Obviously, in a youth-oriented society, (coupled with a recession), I had to consider the most cost-effective methods to maintain my appearance, I didn't want to leave to chance the medi-spas that employ urologists & proctologists to perform procedures that are out of their league, so I looked towards reputable practices, (like the one I selected), and then took advantage of their promotions.

I did my research on the Ulthera & Zeltiq procedures, and knew that the non-invasive route was for me. I was guided in my decision at Advanced Dermatology, not hounded like the perfume-chased at the make-up counters, and that in itself, reassured me that i was in the right place.

Good luck!

By any chance, did you have the lower face done, jaw/neck?

I'm seriously considering this area, as my upper face is fine, no lines or wrinkles, but my lower face is just starting to show some small sag around the jawline.

Would you be willing to post photos of the lower face, if you had the procedure done there?

Did you see before and after Ulthera photos that Dr. F performed?

Thanks, and best wishes!

I went to Dr.Fox for Botox and a Juvederm for under my eyes. It cost #950.00. It took him about 3 minutes. Both my eye brows can not move one is higher than the other. Under my eyes where he put the filler one eye has more filler than the other, I actually look older now than I did before he touched me. The beauty is I will look like this for at least 3 more months and there is nothing I can do about it.-- Unhappy on Long Island>

That sucks! I have had filler and it is VERY important for a doc to show he cares and is qualified enough by studying YOUR face and making sure to not make any uneven sides -- this is part of typical "beauty" and it sounds as if you were just another money sign walking through the door, and not respected for your own needs.

Thus, upon reading your quote, I will NOT be scheduling with this particular doc for ultherapy.
