Hello, I had rhinoplasty 8 days ago, I have...

I had rhinoplasty 8 days ago, I have been wanting this for a very long time, I broke my nose many years ago and this has caused severe breathing problems for me as I had a deviated septum. I also felt my nose was just overall big and wanted the bump removed and the tip brought in closer to my face.
I had gone to see a couple of doctors over the years and both times felt very rushed and not very confidant about the doctor until I went for a consultation with my doctor. He spent about an hour with me, asking me what I don't like about my nose and told me what he can do, he made sure I had realistic expectations and explained the procedure in full detail, I left feeling so good about my visit with him and knew he was the doctor I trusted to do the surgery, he had taken pictures and asked me to come back in a few days to show me the changes he made to the picture.
When I met with him again I did not really like the picture he had shown me and I explained how I wanted it, he explained some of the things I wanted he could not do and told me why, he made minor changes to the picture and we decided on a shape. However after I went home and slept on it I was a little concerned and was not satisfied with what we agreed on so I called and asked if I could see the doctor again and pay for the consultation, he was so nice about it and said come back at no charge and the most important thing is that we are on the same page, after that visit I was very happy with what we agreed on and very excited!
I only paid $1600.00 USD however this was a half price promotion so the regular price would be about $3200.00.
This may sound very low however I based my decision on the doctor and his experience and was just very lucky to get the promotion.
I was very very scared for the surgery, that's actually the main reason I put it off for so long, scared of the anesthesia, a bad turnout, just altogether scared! Once I got to the hospital and met with the doctor I felt relieved, and was ready to do it.
Woke up feeling a little groggy but absolutely no side effects from the anesthesia.
The day of surgery I went home and rested. I was not in any pain just uncomfortable with the nasal packing in my nose and having to breath out of my mouth, I only got about 1 hour of sleep that night. I think I may have been extra bothered by this as I am quite claustrophobic so it was really uncomfortable for me, thank god the doctor took the nasal packing out at my 1 day post op visit, I heard some doctors leave it in for up to 1 week! Taking it out was not a fun experience, it hurt so much! it also bleed so heavily that he wanted to put more back in, thankfully he didn't have to.
The first 2 days were the most uncomfortable, I got some sleep the second night but woke up frequently with a dry mouth and very congested (nose and throat). Some people say it is like having a cold but I found it much harder. But still worth it!
Other than the discomfort my recovery was good, I was not in any pain I did not even really need to take my pain killers but my doctor advised me to as they are also anti inflammatories and my face was very swollen! I had bruising starting the second day and it has gradually decreased, I think it will be gone in the next day or two and most of the swelling in my face was gone by the 5th day. I could get up and walk around the house after the first day but not for too long, all in all I felt pretty normal.
I got my cast off today and am thrilled with the result! I'm glad I did a lot of research on rhinoplasty and that I was very specific to my doctor about what I wanted. I have no regrets other than wishing I had done it sooner.
My Doctor: name not provided
My doctor and his staff were extremely nice and friendly. He was very patient with me, he took time to explain everything in detail and answered all of my questions.
