After losing 90 lbs, my family doctor told me it...

After losing 90 lbs, my family doctor told me it looked like I had twins, and I have never had a kid in my life. My stature is petite at 5'2" and I was a very thin kid but when I started to put on weight it came on quick. My doctor sent me a referral to doctor Ledding for an abdominoplasty just so I could discuss my options, no commitment to it at all. He assured me that I would need the full abdominoplasty because my abdominal muscles had been damaged from my weight gain and that the excess skin I had was indeed skin and not fat. He was extremely approachable. I enjoyed all my time spent with Dr Ledding, he answered all my questions, always made sure I was comfortable and made me laugh. My original consult was in either November or December of 2011, I can't 100% remember. He sent photos and his findings for my tummy to HealthCare to get me coverage for the procedure. Then it took 8 months for healthcare to approve and two weeks later on July 13, 2012 I saw him for a follow up to make sure I still understood the procedure and get my papers for bloodwork, X-ray and prescription for the antibacterial soap. He said it was a 1 year waiting list and on August 16th, 2013 I got the call and my surgery was booked for September 13, 2013. I was so extremely nervous the day of the surgery, which was done at the surgical centre in Regina. Ledding came in to make his marks on my tummy and he relaxed me so much, assured I was going to be okay, made me smile and laugh, honestly made me happy to see him even if he was about to cut me in half. He again, assured I understood what was going to happen and what would happen after. The first week is kind of a blur, I was very very high on painkillers even though I honestly don't remember feeling pain but I definitely was not relaxed and the pills helped me relax and sleep. The 2nd I felt sick all the time, I would get weird feelings in my stomach that mad me feel so nauseous, gravol was my bestfriend. The 3rd week I actually felt great other than extreme back pain cause at this point, still not sleeping flat, my couch was getting extremely uncomfy and I was getting leg aches from being so immobile. My body is used to going a mile a minute, never been one to sit in my butt all day. Now I'm on week six, my binding is off, my incision is clear of glue and in starting my scar treatment that Ledding recommended and I feel great! I saw Ledding for my six week follow up and he said everything looks great and he will see me for a one year check up. Definitely glad my doctor suggested I go see him. He said he took 5lbs of skin but I am down 7lbs since the day of the surgery. PS your weight will fluctuate like crazy from the swelling in the 6 weeks, don't think you'll feel skinny mini right away, because you mostly feel like your carrying a baby! If you have any questions for me let me know :)

Dr. Ledding was very professional and made sure I understood every step on the procedure, before, during and after. He answered all my questions and made me feel as comfortable as he could. Some people had complained about him being "rude" and to me, in no way, is he rude. I thoroughly enjoyed him as a person and a surgeon. I'm glad I was lucky enough to have him do my procedure, I felt very taken care of! People also complained about his office wait times. The way I see it, if a doctor takes his time with one patient and rushes the next cause of time crunch, I don't want to be the person rushed. He takes his time with his patients because he is thorough and a good surgeon! He doesn't overlook anything, truly an awesome surgeon.
