People on the internet seem to exagerate, I am a dental assistant and I know first hand that most of these people over exagerate and probably wouldnt be in this situation if they would have just researched zoom and the dentist they were going to get to do their zoom!

As someone who does zoom and gets zoom I have a few pointers to make sure these bad experiences do not happen to you:

  • Go for a consultation with the dentist you plan on getting it done by, make sure they cover your mouth with tons of gauze, trust me you would rather have tons of gauze then burns in your mouth. If you are not confident with the dentist and his team you need to go see someone else until you do feel confident.
  • When you go for your appointment ask to take a look when they are done prepping you if you see visible pink tissue ask to have it covered up, they should not mind I actually love if someone catches a place that I missed and I am very careful when doing it, so never be afraid to say anything make sure your confident with it.
  • Take advil before your appointment and sit back and try to relax, zingers are common and are just something that comes along with whitening they are pretty hard to get away from.

Be confident and do it because trust me it is worth every penny and the 24-48 hours of sensitivity.

I too worked as an assistant for many, many years. I think its important for us to keep in mind that everyone's experience is different. They may not be exagerating at all, just that they had a different experience.

I agree with you that researching the office you go to is very important. It really sounds like you take a great deal of care for your patients. Thanks for leaving these tips to help others. :)
